While Diesel may have drug "The Lab Lady" here so he can meet us and he is big, but is a gentle, and handsome fellow who really enjoys having toys to play with.  When he wakes up in the morning with a wagging tail, he brings you a toy to show his happiness.  Wherever he goes, the toy goes!  WOOF!!!!  He will surrender it before going outside, but will pick it up again as soon as he returns!

A 7 year old yellow neutered male, he weighs 75 pounds- the perfect weight.  He seems to have had some training as he knows commands "sit", "lie down", "stay" and "come" and will drop the ball on command. He is very gentle mouth when taking treats.

Diesel will sleep through the night and is not in the "chewing stage!"  A very sensitive dog, he will notice when things are out of place. Diesel bonds relatively fast and tightly, so if you have to be away for a few weeks unexpectedly, the anxiety may make him itch and get hot spots. Fortunately, if the itching/scratching is caught quickly they heal quickly. You'll just need to be nice and consistent for the first few months!

As all of us dogs are, Diesel is quite the food lover and eats VERY fast! So playing any games, running, jumping, etc. must be after at least 30 minute or more rest between eating/drinking and playing as a precaution!  And he has some lumps and bumps as dogs do, but they don't aren't an issue. He can climb 3 flights of steps but that would be his limit, 1-2 floors preferred. His bit of arthritis in his hops, makes him tired after a trot (1 mile), a game of fetch, swimming, etc. but staying at a healthy weight has helped with this.
He is good with other dogs, though more of a human's dog, there is no information on his experience with cats or with little humans- over age 10 would be best.

Diesel is up-to-date on vaccines and is ready to meet his forever friend and go to his "Forever Home."  If you would be interested in meeting Diesel and learning about dog adoption, please contact Lab-Rescue.
