Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League

I love these pawsomely huge dogs called Great Danes.  They are so dignified-looking, like me, and yet know how to have fun and barkingly enjoy life, uh like me- I guess we have a lot in common.  These guys, though, are the first dogs I've looked up to as, well, they are taller than me!  WOOFs!

My friend from the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League brought by a really cool guy for you to meet this week!  Meet Leo!

Leo has had a bit of a rough start in life. He was brought to the Loudoun County Animal Shelter because of incorrect perceptions by his humans. The pawtastic volunteers at Loudoun County could let this guy go away, so they contacted the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League where they discovered his perceived issues were wrong.

Leo was given pawsome care by Loudoun and now the rescue and is one cool blossoming 10 month old bouncy baby boy, WOOFS!!, and has that puppy mouthiness going on! BARK!

Leo doesn't know his size and can be a concern around mini-humans. He would do pawsome in a home with mini-humans over the age of 6 years old!

Leo walks on a leash like a dream and even prefers to grab hold it and and walk himself. That I'd love to see! WOOFs! He is reactive to small dogs - he jumps up and down. Barkingly, he is reactive to young boys on his walks.

He will go into his crate nicely- his fosters found him asleep when they came home. He is house trained too! WOOFS!

Leo loves to play with toys and will steal and all stuffed animals/dollies and call them his own!  He is reactive to roughhousing so it can only be done for short periods and with toys.  He is learning the commands "leave it" and "drop." A huge fenced yard ro call his own and he can really let loose is one of his pawsome dreams.

He has a tendency, like all puppies to put anything in his mouth so he'll need constant attention.

Leo is working on his manners like jumping when greeting - he will follow your lead.

Due to Leo's young age, there will be a training requirement as part of his adoption.
