Operation Paws for Homes will be hosting its third annual Fast and Furriest Event on Sunday, April 9, 2017 to raise funds for medical expenses incurred by dogs coming to the organization to find "Forever Homes!' Last year, the event attracted over 500 participants and raised over $11,000!

Again this year, the event will be dedicated to Anthony M. Capobianco and his family. At the age of three, Anthony was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and became wheelchair-bound at 12-years-old. Anthony passed away in March, 2015, at the age of 36. Anthony was compassionate, brave, kind, patient, honest, and loyal. He loved and appreciated life and lived it with passion each day despite the barriers in his life. Anthony loved all animals, especially dogs. Dogs touched his heart deeply, and he cared for them tenderly and with love. He couldn't stand the thought of a dog being hungry, abused or without a good loving home.  Help us keep his dream alive. Your participation will help Operation Paws for Homes provide medical care, foster homes, and "Forever Homes."

Operation Paws for Homes (Operation Paws for Homes) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, federal ID number 45-2785962.  You will receive a tax receipt for your records and, if requested, a copy of our tax exemption letter from the IRS.  Operation Paws for Homes, an all-breed dog rescue serves Maryland, DC, Virginia and southern central Pennsylvania with a network of volunteers and foster homes.

Operation Paws for Homes does not have a facility or receive funding from local, state, or federal sources.  The rescue partners with high-kill shelters in the south in an effort to save as many dogs that, by no fault of their own, end up in the shelter waiting for someone to take them home.  Many do not make it out of the shelter.

OPH & Semper K-9:  (Semper K9) matches rescue dogs with wounded, critically-ill and injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.  Semper K9 adopts dogs from local rescue organizations to give them a special chance to be the best friend and companion to a needy service member.  We are proud that Semper K9 considers, and has trained, some of our adoptable dogs for this tremendous opportunity. We are thrilled to be partners with them.
