WOOF! WOOF! Happy Friday! I am pawsitively excited to share with you the pawsome news about Lab Rescue's rescuing their 1000th Labrador Retriever! WOOF! As it is, her name is Queeny and she is a Yellow Labrador Retriever! WOOF! BARKS! She was rescued along with her kennel mates Bernie and Della as they say "GOODBYE" to the breeding life! Barks.

Queeny is around 13-years-old. She is extra-loving, easygoing, loves being petted, has an excellent "Lab-Lean" and is in pawsome health for a lady her age! She was a pawnderful mother to her many fuzzy pups!

Queeny is looking for a "Forever Home" and humans to love where she can cozy up for a nap, get tons of attention and have a canine friend for company!

WOOF! Della is a 9-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever who is very friendly, likes getting attention and being petted!

Barks, Queeny's buddy Bernie is a 10-year-old Yellow (Fox Red) Labrador Retriever! He loves to get attention and has started playing with toys!

Barks, Roy is a low-key laid-back kinda guy who is sweet and submissive. He doesn't jump either! WOOF! Barkingly, quite the gentle guy!

Roy enjoys his crate and rests quietly in there at night and when his humans are not home! He is house-trained too!

Roy is looking for humans who will love him like family, train him, exercise him regularly and love kisses!

Roy's adopter will need to allow him time to work through his shyness in his own time!

Meows! Meow! I hope you had a grand Thanksgiving with your family and friends! Mine was pawsomely quiet, a quieter day than usual, and I loved every second of it! MEOWS! Now, I'm thinking about getting busy with some Black Friday shopping. Paws, I have a great idea for you which you will not find in any shops... adopt a cat.. one that you can have in your home to enjoy the Christmas-New Year season.. and every day of the year for that matter! Meows.

Photo: PetConnect Rescue
Creative: Allen Pearson
My friend "Cat Lady" from PetConnect Rescue brought by a sweet fella named Algernon for you to meet! He's looking for his "Forever Home" and humans to love!

Algernon was rescued from a home where he was neglected for many years! He lived in a dark, filthy basement only having contact with humans came by to feed him. Sadly, insufficient food was provided so he developed some minor health issues. Meowingly, now he is healthy! His pawful experience did not turn him against humans!

Purr, Algernon is amazingly sweet and gentle! With humans he knows and trusts, he is pawsomely affectionate and loves being petted and kissed!

Algernon loves to be petted and kissed! He will happily curl up on your lap and purr his heart out! PURRS!

Meows, he is still afraid of strangers so he needs an adopter who will understand he will need time to settle in and learn to trust his new humans!

Paws, Algernon will pay back his adopter with a lifetime of love, devotion, and purrs!

Meows, he gets along with other cats!

Meows, if you would like to learn more about cat adoption with PetConnect Rescue, pawlease visit their Adoption Guide!

Paws, if you would like to meet or apply to pawssibly adopt Algernon, pawlease complete the PetConnect Rescue Cat Adoption Application! Once the application is submitted, a PetConnect Rescue Adoption Coordinator will contact you!

WOOF! WOOF! BARK! While many humans are out doing their "Black Friday" shopping, I am having a pawsome morning writing about dogs, and Samson writes about cats, needing "Forever Homes!" What else do you need to do on "Black Friday" but find yourself a pawsome dog companion and adopt!

Great Dane AdoptionMy barkingly pawsome friend "Great Dane Dame" from the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League stopped by this week with pawsome 1-2-year-old Merle Great Dane with natural ears! He will be a large fella when he fills out some! Barks! Although he is still a growing puppy, he will not get much taller though!

Barkingly, Bingo should not be left to roam the house unattended. He is house- and crate-trained but is still a puppy and will do puppy things! WOOF!

Bingo will need an adopter who will have patience as he settles into his new home.

He loves to be around his human and does tend to be a "Velcro Dane!" He will lay at your feet and cuddle for as longs as you let him. He will stretch out on your bed too- if you allow him.

Bingo is tall enough to counter-surf and has shown a puppy curiosity in the kitchen! WOOF! WOOF! Barks!

He enjoys playing with other dogs. His foster siblings are a female Great Dane and a Male Boxer! His personality says he will do fine with lots of humans but in a pawfect world, he would love another dog to teach him the ropes!

Bingo needs a fenced yard and pawlenty of exercise to burn off his puppy energy!

He rides well in a car, knows some basic commands, and enjoys going for walks. He will have a Training Addendum as part of his adoption.

Bingo has no history with cats. He is recommended for mini-humans ages 8 and older.

To learn more about adopting a Great Dane, applying to adopt, requirements of an adopter, pawlease visit the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Adoption Procedures.

Woofs, unable to adopt? Barkingly, how about supporting Bingo financially? Donations will assist with his care. Any extra funds will be used to assist other Great Danes at Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League. Interested, pawlease donate HERE!

A Rescued Dog and Cat's Thanksgiving Day Prayer! Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving

A Rescued Dog and Cat's Thanksgiving Day Prayer

"Dear God,
Woof! It's me, Noah!
MEOWs! And me, Samson!
But you probably already know that...
thank you for so many blessings you have given us!

Woofs, thank you, Jesus, for the long walks with Dad,
the delicious food at every meal,
for the delectable treats I get every day,
the toys I get to play with whenever I want,
the nice warm crate full of blankies and pillows,
the nice warm bed where I can sleep between my humans
or the other bed where I can have it all to myself,
the loving pets on my head and the pawsome belly scratches,
the car rides, even the short ones are so much fun,
my red winter coat- yes, though I do not like wearing it, it keeps me warm,
for Mom who always likes to pet me and scratch my ears
and for sharing her favorite chair with me,
and for telling Dad to adopt me,
for my pawsome Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians who
take of my well-being.

MEOWS! MEOWS! Lord God thank you for my pawsome humans,
for the home full of love you have given me,
for the delicious food and treats and water,
for the incredibly pawsome wand toy
that Dad loves to play with too!
Purrs, thank you pawsomely purrings from the bottom of my kitty-cat heart
for helping me to learn that Dad is really a great guy
and I shouldn't be afraid of him,
I love my morning cuddles with him now,
my head-butts into his chin,
his beard feels so good,
and kneading his arms every morning
every afternoon,
and every night.
whenever he moves in his studio, meows,
He's told me he 'LOVES' me
which is something I haven't had from a male human before.
Paws, it is a pawsomely wonderful gift!
Meows, thank you for Mom too.
If it wasn't for her, I might be still looking for a "Forever Home!
Thank you for my pawsome table in Dad's Studio where I get to
lay and watch birds all day long!"

Thank you God for all of our pawsome blessings!"
Noah and Samson

Happy Thanksgiving!
May you have a pawsomely
blessed day with family and friends!

Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.

Labrador Retriever Adoption
Photo: Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.
Creative: Allen Pearson

Woof! November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month. It was created to bring attention to the many pawsome senior pets which need adoption so they can have humans to love and a "Forever Home."

Senior Labrador Retriever AdoptionMany humans do not realize how pawsome senior dogs can be. For one, I am a senior dog. Yes, I've slowed down some but not too much. I don't require a lot of exercise and playtime like I did when I was a puppy. I still enjoy playtime but not as long or as energetic! For me, I still enjoy going for as many walks and for as long as I can. I can miss a day or two too! Barks, that's me. There are dogs who just want to relax around the house with their humans.

Barkingly, senior dogs make a great "starter" dog for the family who has never had a dog before. The dog is already trained and often makes a great companion to a family with mini-humans too. The mini-humans get a chance to have a dog and learn how to take care of one and the dog gets all the lovin's! It's a win-win. WOOF! Barks.

My pawsome friend "Lab Lady" of Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc., came by surrounded by several senior Labrador Retrievers looking for humans to love and their "Forever Homes!"

Barkingly, she shared some news about a special adoption event for senior Labrador Retrievers too! Woofs! Here are the details:

Campaign Home for the Holidays!

The pawsome Lab Rescue volunteer intake team has been pawnderfully busy rescuing seniors and Lab Rescue will soon be bursting with loving seniors. Lab Rescue wants to see all of the seniors head home for the holidays.

WOOF! Barks, some dogs that I meet, I just want to hug. I want to put my arms around them and give them a hug and wish them the bestest in finding a "Forever Home" and humans to love. Why? Barks, I don't know... except that the dog just looks huggable. WOOF! My friend Remembering Casey Koffeekake from Operation Paws for Homes is like that. Though I am not recommending anyone hugging her as she might not like it. Barks. Me, being a handsome dog, might get away with it. WOOF!

Dog AdoptionRemembering Casey Koffeekake is a beautiful Hound mix. She is a sweet girl around 4-years-old. Barkingly, she does get anxious when left alone, doesn't want to be abandoned again- you know, so she wants a human who is home most of the day or pawssibly gone only a few hours! She enjoys sleeping in her foster mom's room!

Remembering Casey Koffeekake enjoys going for walks and does well on her leash! She likes meeting new humans, mini-humans, and dogs.

WOOF! If you would like to learn more about dog adoption with Operation Paws for Homes, pawlease visit their Adoption Guide.

WOOF! Happy Friday! My pawsome friend the "Great Dane Dame" brought by a beautiful sweet black Great Dane for you to meet! Lilly is 3-4 years-old and looking for humans to love and her "Forever Home!"

Barks, this beautiful lady has no sense of personal space and loves ALL the attention she can get! She is working on that with her foster mom. Woofsters, she is working on her girlish figure too. She hopes you will help her maintain it.

Lilly has manners and knows some basic commands. She is working on understanding that not only is it OK to be a dog, it is GREAT! WOOFS! Barks!

She gets along with other dogs she's met.

She is learning about the pawsomeness of toys.

Lilly would like a home that is quiet and will allow her to gain confidence.

She is good with mini-humans and cats!

Pizza Mutt is pawssibly a Labrador Retriever mix. She is around 18-weeks-old and the mostest beautiful girl!

She gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes! She loves being around her foster's dogs! WOOF!

Pizza Mutt enjoys sleeping on the sofa but will sleep in her crate too.

WOOF! She is potty-trained! Barkingly, pawlease know though that when she goes home with you, it's pawssible, as with any dog, she may have an accident or two while you two are learning about each other! Barks! She will get it as fast as she can!

She enjoys playing with toys!

Woofly, she gets along with mini-humans too!

Traveling Adventures with My Humans!

"Golden Fall Leaves"
(C) Allen Pearson Photography

Barks! WOOF! This Spring to Fall seasons have been incredibly pawsome with outdoor fun, long walks, travel, railfanning, trips to the garden centers, and short local day trips! I love going to places with my humans. Sometimes it's just me and Dad but on the really long trips- Mom comes along! Barks!

Josh and Aimee
"Josh and Aimee"
(C) Josh Photography, Used by Permission
Paws, I think one of the funnest trips I've taken was our trip near the end of last month. Dad never tells me when we are going or where for that matter. He doesn't even pack my stuff until the last minute! Growl! I think that's probably because I get so excited to be going somewhere that I get underfoot! Barks, but I just can't help it! It's too fun and exciting!

Barkingly, our trip was through West Virginia which was one of the most beautiful rides I have ever taken. The hills, the mountains, the trees, some of the leaves were changing to fall colors. Paws, and oh, and, of course- I can't forget this, we drove by this huge railyard in Cumberland, MD, which was full of trains moving and building trains to take stuff somewhere. So cool!

Our first stop was in Parkersburg, WV. A quaint West Virginia town with restaurants, stores, and our hotel! We stayed here a few days so we can visit a few of Dad's friends. Our hotel was really nice. They even gave ME a letter of welcome- how nice is that!?

"Miss Georgia!"
(C) Debby Photography, Used by Permission
The first day there, we met up with two friends that Mom and Dad met on their trip to South Africa this summer- one of two trips that they decided to take without me! WOOF! That's ok! I got to have tons of fun with my uncle Lon! Just don't tell my humans that- it might hurt their feelings. Barks.

Josh and Aimee were really cool to meet! Dad and Josh have a great sense of humor and had fun joking with each other. Barks, Mom loved chatting with Aimee about her baby and life! She even got to hold the baby. Now I see why Dad nicknames Josh "West Virginia Mountain Man!" His beard, love for his family, and the mountains remind Dad of his family from the hills of West Virginia.

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Little did I know that I would be seeing my sweetheart girlfriend Georgia and her pawsome parents! She is a hot young Golden Retriever who is the mostest sweetest girlfriend ever! I could have spent the entire weekend... er ... fall season.... oh..the rest of my life chasing her to and from and over the West Virginia Mountains! WOOF! BARKS! BARK!

Georgia is dog to my Dad's friends Debby and Doug who he met in his college years. Funny, neither of them looks very old. Actually, they were quite young... I'm guessing neither of them aged as fast as Dad. Well, Dad is always saying he went to college in the stone age hundreds of years ago back in the day when Moses taught a Bible class and used the original tablets to write on.

Doug and Debbie
"Doug and Debbie"
(C) Debbie Photography, Used by Permission
WOOF! Dad and Mom had a pawsome time visiting with Debby and Doug and I had an even more fun time dreaming about spending my life with Georgia. Barks!

I can see why Dad enjoyed Debby and Doug in college and even today- their sense of humor and the laughs they shared are priceless! WOOF!

After a pawsomely grand day of pawtying with Dad's friends, we loaded up our car and headed to another unknown destination. Paws, I'm hoping Dad and Mom know where they are going as they won't tell me and I keep seeing them push a bunch of buttons on the dashboard of the car and they say "ready!" Arf?

We're off and I soon see a sign which says welcome to Ohio! WOOF! The mountains aren't as numerous and the hills seem to be less hilly. Barks. The scenery along the way is very beautiful so great to see! I love looking out the windows! Sometimes Dad lets me sniff! Which basically means he'll roll the window down enough for me to stick my nose out and take a few sniffs. He doesn't allow me to stick my head all the way out the window because I could get hurt. I could get debris or bugs or whatever in my eyes and face and that would not be good.

Somehow, railfanning, railroading, and watching for trains has come into our travels! Why am I not surprised!? Barks! I wonder where we will be stopping?! As I look out the window I see flat land with farms, some small towns, and rows upon rows of what was this past season crops and some cows ...but no trains or railroad tracks anywhere yet! WOOF!

Deshler, Ohio, is our next stop. Appawrently, this is a railfan location with a small park where Dad says he will see several trains and we can be off. Right! He will take all day to watch trains if Mom will let him. Most times she does but I am thinking she will be in more of a hurry today because she wants to get to the Booth Brothers Fan Retreat.

"Crossroads Park, Deshler, Ohio"
Allen Pearson Photography
Barks, now this is too funny! Dad gets out of the car, looks around at the crossroad intersection of railroads where CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern cross paths! He determines a place to photograph and video so he can be prepared for trains coming from any direction. WOOF! He sets up the tripod and adds the camera for video. He sits down on the bench and waits. I, being the smartest Plott Hound/Black Labrador Retriever you have ever met, stay in the car with Mom. Yup. Inside. Curled up. Not moving. With my blanket and pillow. Why? It's cold. Windy. And, like really cold. Why go outside to see a train go by in the cold wind when I can stay here and be warm. Woof! Don't tell Dad as he would be disappointed in me. Bark.

As we sit there, no trains come by. Dad is disappointed but decides to pack it all in since it's cold and he doesn't know if any trains will be by soon.... or not. Barks. So we head out and stop to get fuel and a few snacks. I hear Dad say, "As soon as I leave, the trains will come!" WOOF! Well, yup, you guessed it. They did. He grabs his camera and photographs!

We finished fueling and headed out. Barkingly, we see another train go by. We happened to get turned around since the GPS Lady was asleep and had to make a few U-turns but I think it was really Dad trying to see more trains! If it was, he was successful! WOOFs!
The Booth Brothers
"The Booth Brothers"
(C) Allen Pearson Photography

We arrive safe and sound in Shipshewana, IN. WOOF! A pawsitively beautiful little town. We check into our room and settle in for the week. Mom is pawsitively happy because she is going to have a few days of music, laughter, fellowship, and most importantly devotions with the Booth Brothers. One of mom's favorite Southern Gospel music groups- Dad says she's become a groupie because she will drive almost ANYWHERE to here them!

Another interesting part of this trip was all the horses. Dad and I would be out walking and I'd hear these loud "clop! clop! clop! clop!" noises. At first, it was a bit concerning as we don't have these noises at home. So I looked around and I saw it. A horse pulled a carriage. WOOF! Not only did I see one, I saw two, then three, then four..... barks. Dad explained it is a mode of transportation for the Amish in the Shipshewana, Indiana area.

Barks! What I didn't like nor understand is why the horses were allowed to do their business anywhere along the way that they pawlease- basically, whenever they need to go they go! WOOF! And barkingly, no one picks it up either. Barks. If I did that and no one picked it up, Dad and I would be in huge trouble. Barks. Dad was told by someone there that the horse's business is fertilizer too so it helps the environment. WOOF! Barks.

Our return trip was uneventful though incredibly beautiful as we drove through the hills and mountains going around curves where you often wondered if you would catch up with yourself going around the curve!

Product Review! Joyride Harness!

"Joyride Harness"
(C) Allen Pearson Photography

WOOF! Paws, I was not paid, as I have no use for human money, nor did I receive any treats, or other forms of compensation to share my opinions and thoughts about this product, the "Joyride Harness." I was provided a Joyride Harness to use and let you know my thoughts! Barks.

Are you looking for a gift for your dog or the dog lover in your life? Barkingly, read on!

Barks, I have enjoyed using the Joyride Harness these past few weeks! Woofingly, though I prefer to walk without a harness, just a leash to my collar, I did like using it with my human. Growl! there is one thing I do not like about it which I will share with you too.
Noah Wearing a Joyride Harness!
"Noah Wearing a Joyride Harness!"
(C) Allen Pearson Photography
Woofingly, what I love about the Joyride Harness is it fits me so snuggly that I hardly know it's on. It stayed on me and didn't move around! It is so easy to put on and take off too. Compared to using a leash to my collar, I love the freedom this product provides. Barks, I get a little more lead and when I'm going back and forth sniffing or just wandering, I love that the leash doesn't get caught on anything and moves with me as I am walking my human.

Paws, I usually do not walk my human at night. He's older and needs to be in bed early don't you know! Woof. If I did, I would be seen better at night because since it has reflective stitching in the harness. WOOF! A great safety feature to help us be seen!

Barks. it's made of a great sturdy material which provides great durability! The side which goes against my back is made of comfortable material so it's not annoying. WOOF!

Growls! What do I not like? WOOF! The Joyride Harness provides better control of me when I am walking my human! The EZ Grip Handle provides something my human can grab should he need to move me for whatever reason! He has more control- g-r-r-r-r-r-r-r! Barks. Barkingly, it is a good safety feature!

Barkingly, overall, I recommend the Joyride Harness. If you would like to purchase one for your dog or for the dog-lover in your life, pawlease visit Joyride Harness! Barkingly, do not let the website name or URL fool you- there are products for larger dogs.
