Jessie's Girl is a sweet girl around 1-year-old! She has great house manners and is house- and crate-trained. Barkingly, she would rather lay on the couch in your lap than getting into stuff!

Jessie's Girl loves romping outside and play with other dogs she's met. She is submissive if she's alpha in the group.

Jessie's Girl likes to howl when she gets really excited but isn't a barker.

Jessie's Girl loves her crate because it's a safe place for her.  She's very shy with her new human so she will need time to warm up before becoming your bestest girl! WOOF!

WOOF! My pawsome friend "Miss C" at PetConnect Rescue stopped by this week with an adorable puppy who is looking for his "Forever Home!" Meet Snow White's "Dopey!"

Barkingly, an interesting name for such a sweet puppy, but according to his foster mom, this guy is the goofy sidekick to Doc and exceptionally sweet! His dog mom, Snow White, gave birth to these pups around 6 weeks ago. Paws, they are ready to be adopted and are currently reviewing applications!

Barks, Snow White is a Beagle/Spaniel mix and his dad is a complete mystery.  Dopey is friendly, curious, playful and affectionate.

WOOF! Since Dopey is a puppy. he will require adopters who are home a good part of the day to continue with his training - no exceptions!  Dopey is up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and will need to be spayed/neutered at the age of 6 months.

Barks, since Dopey's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town-homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old. Barks!

WOOF! My pawsome friend "Lab Lady" came by this week in a huge whirl with her hands full of Black Labrador Retrievers all of which were circling her saying "thanks" to her and the volunteers at Lab Rescue who are helping them find "Forever Homes!"

The pawsome Black Labradors, Peace and Harmony, are a barkingly bonded pair who are looking for a "Forever Home" in a rural or suburban single-family home with a fenced backyard.

WOOF! Pace and Harmony were adopted from Lab Rescue as puppies but came back after their human mom died and their dad isn't able to care for them anymore. arf. bark.

The girls are very well socialized, happy and chilled until you grab a tennis ball. BARKS, then it is time for a game of fetch! Barkingly, they are well-behaved, know basic commands, stay off furniture, walk well on a leach, and travel well in a car.

Peace and Harmony are pawsome with other dogs. They have been kenneled quite a bit when their human traveled and never had a spat with other dogs.

Peace and Harmony are housebroken and crate trained. Barks, they don't crated since they are past the puppy stage and mischief!

WOOF! Peace and Harmony are good with other dogs and have no history with cats. The girls have done really well visiting mini-humans but have not lived with them. They are approved for mini-humans ages 10 and older.

WOOF! Happy Friday! Barks! WHAT A FACE! JUST LOOK AT THAT FACE! WOOF! My day has started out really pawsome a few friends from Lab Rescue when my barkingly grand friend "Lab Lady" brought by for you to meet this week.  BARKS! Meet Lucky!

Lucky is 2-years-old and looking for his "Forever Home" in a rural or suburban single-family home with no fence requirement.

Lucky is a pawsomely sweet fella! He has the most pawfect house manners. He enjoys chilling with humans watching Netflix or just cuddling!

Lucky enjoys going for walks and loves keeping his nose to the ground to pick up any scents, read pee-mail and catch up any good gossip left by neighboring pawed friends!

Lucky is looking for a "Forever Home" where a human is home more often than not! He is pawfect with cats, other dogs and mini-humans ages 10 and older.

Meet my friend David Wise! WOOF! Operation Paws for Homes had a contest and the lucky winner named the dog! BARKS, she chose to name him after the Olympic Medal Winner David Wise!

David Wise is around 6-weeks-old! He will be ready to go to his "Forever Home" around June 23, 2018! He is hoping to find a family soon so his foster can help other dogs in need! WOOF!

Barkingly, since I am so young, I have only received 2 sets of the required 3 sets of puppy vaccinations for distemper/parvo. Barks, this is very IMPORTANT because it means that his immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. He MUST stay out of public places where he could be exposed to the germs of many other dogs for another 8-10 weeks after he goes home. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity.

WOOF! HAPPY FRIDAY! Cats make pawsome pets! They are a bit easier to take care of than dogs and can provide great companionship too! Meet my friend Saphira from Homeless Animals Rescue Team.

Saphira is around 5-years-old, is not declawed, isn't good with dogs or other cats. She is good with mini-humans.

Pawsomely beautiful, Saphira, a white cat with blue eyes is deaf.  She needs to be warned before you approach her. Tapping on the window, sofa, table, windowsill seems to be enough to get her attention.

Saphira loves sleeping in the sun. She constantly purrs and loves to rub against her human. Once she gets to know you, she will cuddle up in your lap. Meowingly, she doesn't like to be picked up.

Purrs, Saphira would like to be your one-and-only cat this! She will do best with a very patient and understanding human.

Saphira might take a while to settle into her new "Forever Home," but, she will steal your heart! Meows!

Welcome Samson! My New Cat Brother!

WOOF! BARK! ARF! WOOF! oh, uh, er, maybe I should say MEOW! PURR!! to welcome my new little brother Samson to the family!

Last week, my humans took an afternoon drive to Annapolis, Maryland to visit a cat who'd been rescued by Saving Future Feral Cats (SFFC) of Stevensville, Maryland. Mom had been looking for a cat for quite awhile when she came across this pawsome fella on Petfinder! I didn't know she was looking for another cat until she came across this guy!

If you remember, I used to have a cat brother! His name was Haydn! He passed away from cancer a few years ago but since my humans were in the midst of caring for their ailing parents, it really wasn't practical to adopt a cat during that time. So Mom waited.

Now that Mom's settled into her new schedule around the house and working for our church, she can adopt a cat and take care of it too! WOOF, er, sorry, MEOW- I just get so excited.

Samson is a shy guy at the moment. It takes him awhile to adjust to his surroundings and then comes to get to know his humans. He has lived with dogs and was fostered with a most pawsome dog in Annapolis! So, he's versed in how great we dogs are so I do not need to chat or convince him of that! MEOW!! He is around 3-years-old and like my previous brother, a Maine Coon cat! He looks like a raccoon from the back but don't tell Mom I said that! MEOW! HISS!

Paws, I welcome Samson to the family with open paws and tons of doggie lovin's to go with it. As time goes on and we get to know him better, I will be writing more about him ... hey, I might even allow him to write a post or two! Meow... we'll see about that one! WOOF!!

Paws, Barks, Meows, and Purrs to pawsome humans at Saving Future Feral Cats! The organization typically doesn't work with cats the age of Samson but we are thankful they rose to the call and helped this fella to find us! WOOF!

Happy Father's Day!

WOOF! Happy Father's Day to all fathers, whether you are human, canine, feline or any other pawsome animal! Have yourself a pawsome day, doing what you like to do best! BARKS!

To my human father, thank you for everything you have done and are doing to help me to enjoy life. I remember when we first met and you decided I was the one you want, or mom insisted you wanted (woof! woof!), to adopt and be your one-and-only, dog that is. On the way home, you looked at me and I looked back and we knew, this was a  match made in heaven.

Thank you, human father for all the walks, the games of fetch, the many non-destructible toys which lasted only a few minutes (woof! woof!), the delicious treats and food, the pawsome water, the many naps, the belly rubs and scratches on my ears. WOOF! Even though I hate to admit this, thank you for the trips to the Veterinarian! Though I don't like going, I've noticed you always selected what you consider the best Veterinarian to keep me healthy.

Happy Father's Day Dad!  Barks! Happy Father's Day to all father's!

Meet Julie, Jaspar, Jeff, Jane, Jake, Julian, Jessie, and Josie who all need your help! WOOF! Here's a bit about their story, "barks! we were abandoned, along with our mom, at just a few weeks old. Our mom helped us survive, but we got really sick. We were full of worms and other parasites. We all badly need medicine to make us healthy. Right now, we're in a shelter down south, but thank goodness that PetConnect Rescue agreed to take us in! We are coming to Maryland June 23 and are going to three different foster homes so none of us will be scared and lonely. Those fosters have to give all of us lots of medicine to get us well and ready for our forever homes!"

WOOF! The medications for these pawsome pups are expensive and the pups can't get healthy without them! WOOF! Barkingly, we have to see the Veterinarian too!

WOOF! A new friend stopped by this week! Quite the interesting and pawsome character.  She is from Operation Paws for Homes, her name is Coco Bean!

Coco Bean is around 3-years-old and a pawsomely adorable Shepherd mix. She is an affectionate, playful and cuddly girl.

Coco Bean is house-broken and has the most pawsomely good house manners.

WOOF! Paws she knows a few basic commands and will come with called! Also, she doesn't counter surf!

Coco Bean lives with 4 mini-humans who like to poke at her and pull her ears. She loves them and the attention they give her. She loves to be held, hugged and close to her humans. Barkingly, and loves to share kisses!

WOOF! Coco Bean is not a chewer and doesn't need to be crated.

WOOF! My pawsome friend "Lab Lady" came by this week to visit with a barkingly cool 3-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever for you to meet. Meet Emma!

BARKS! Emma is looking for her "Forever Home" in a rural or suburban single-family home with a fence.

Emma is working pawsomely hard on mastering commands. She met with a trainer and she shared with her foster home how she recalls, “here” as opposed to “come.” She is learning more commands too.

Emma is crate-trained and will go in by your asking.  She isn't crated much during the day but she does sleep there most night.

Emma is a calm girl in the house if she gets enough playtime and outside time to rid her of "puppy energy!" She enjoys wrestling with the foster's resident dog.  Barkingly, when she's in the house, she becomes a couch potato or takes over a bed.

WOOF! Emma is house-trained too! Paws, she will let you know when she needs to go out by standing by the door! Barkingly, she's been accident-free in her foster house.

Barks, Emma will do best in a home where a human could be home with her during the day. She takes a while to "trust" her humans but it would be easier for her with someone in the home and will continue working with her manners and commands! WOOF!

Paws, Emma would like to have a canine companion to wrestle with and help her run off her energy. Barkingly, a jogging buddy would work too! BARK!! When bored, she has stolen a shoe or two, though not chewing them, but to play "keep-away!" with me. I’ve since sprayed the shoes with bitter apple and she’s left them alone.

Paws, Emma loves the water! She had the oppawtunity to play in a pool and loved it! Barks, then she loved rubbing herself in the grass to dry off and really loved being dried off with the towel!

Woofs, Emma enjoys chasing squirrels way too much. Barks, she is too interested in cats too. So, no cats in her new "Forever Home!"
