Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, Cat Adoption

(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!

Woofs! Meows! Good day to our fine canine, feline, and human friends.

Our Administrative Assistant has had an incredibly busy week! He had to go to Northern Virginia for a dentist and chiropractor appointment which meant two separate trips to the area and his workouts at the "Wellness Center" twice this week with impawtant appointments after them. Woofs, I don't think I've seen him going so much in one week!

Barkingly, this morning, he has the mostest bestest pawsomest plans to have breakfast with his grandson. If you are a grandparent, you know how pawsome it is to get together with the grand mini-humans every chance you get. When they get older, it becomes harder to get together so the moments you can do so, are cherished. Paws, as they should be as moments with humans, canines, and felines are ones you don't want to miss!

Meows, since Dad was out much of this week, and definitely this morning, we aren't writing our usual "Friday's Friend!" post because we are not pawmitted to use the computer without human supervison. We pawlan to return to writing about our fine feline friends, oh, sorry, and canine friends, needing "Forever Homes!" next Friday, May 5!

Happy Administrative Assistants Day!

(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!
"Happy Administrative Assistants Day!"
(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw

WOOFS! Meows! Samson, Noah, and I want to thank our administrative assistant today on this special day for all he does for us!

If it weren't for our administrative assistant, who would turn on the computers and log us in so we could paw our posts for you every day? Who would fix the computer when it goes whacky? Who would sharpen our pencils? Who makes sure we have pens and other needed office supplies? Who would make our graphics or find images for us to use in our posts? Who would research our posts for accurate information in our stories? Who would edit our posts making sure we pawed what we wanted correctly? WOOFS! MEOWS! Who would answer our emails every day? Who would post our work to social media, since we aren't allowed to use it? Who would make our water? We'd like coffee but understand it isn't healthy for dogs and cats! Who would make sure the heat or the air conditioning is turned on and set at a comfortable level? Who would adjust the chair at our desk to be at the pawfect height for all three of us to use whenever we needed? Who would provide the needed treats to bring us out of writers block? Who would make our breaky and dinner that we eat before and after a very long day of writing?

Our human is who does all of that for us so we can write entertaining educational stories for you to enjoy! Thank you Dad!

For all of those humans who do the work of Administrative Assistants, a pawsitively HAPPY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS DAY to you too!

Woofs! Happy Friday my fine furrends! Do you have a fun weekend pawlanned? Barkingly, I think your weekend would be much more fun if you have a dog to join you in whatever you are doing... barks, and not just any dog, a Black Labrador Retriever would be best! I know they are the greatest dogs on the pawlanet... especially since I am one! Woofs!

My friend "Lab Lady" from Lab Rescue has brought by a fella named King who is looking for his "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love him too. He is looking for his home in a rural or suburban single-family house or townhouse. He doesn't not have a fence requirement. Barkingly, he wants to be your one-and-only-dog-that-is! Woof.

Woofing, King is an easy-going fella who has been a pawsitively delightful houseguest at his foster's home. He is loved by everyone who gets the pawleasure of meeting him. He is most happiest when he can be with his humans.

King is a good companion who enjoys going for car rides and getting treats at banks and pharmacies! He believes outings are pawsitively grand, even going for a dip in the creek. Barks, he enjoys walks and is gentle on the leash. He likes dogs he's met on walks, just doesn't want to live with them. Naps and relaxing on the couch are a favorite too.

Barkings, he is a huge fan of stuffies but his favorite toy is a football Kong which he carries everywhere even to go do his business.
Paws, King can be trusted to go out to do his business and comes right back for his treats! He can be trusted in the home too, as long as food temptations are well out of reach! Barks, sounds like me and Abby!

He is a pawsome communicator as he will let you know when his water bowl is empty and when he needs to step out to do his business.

King enjoys helping his foster mom clean house by licking up socks and giving them to her!

King is pawsitively a gentle fella. He prefers a gentle, quiet, environment. He is friendly and calm when meeting humans but he takes his time getting to know each person and likes them to do the same. He prefers humans to use a gentle, quiet approach giving  him time to roll over for a belly rub or two. Loud noises and sudden approaches can startle him.

Barks, King is a big cuddle bug and will seek out affection. He likes his back being scratched, but not ear cleaning or fussing around with his feet. He does not like rough-housing scratch sessions and will withdraw when he feels uncomfortable.

Paws, King has starred in a few videos to help with his adoption:

Army Crawl

Checking out the Roomba Vacuum

Woofs, King is a delightful companion and looks forward to finding his forever family.

Friday's Friend! Cat Adoption, The Humane Society of Loudoun County

Meows! Purrs! Meows! Happy Friday! I paw and purr that you have had a pawsome week and are ready for an even more pawsome weekend! Purrs!

My friends from the Humane Society of Loudoun County brought by two pawsome cats looking for their "Forever Homes!" with humans to love who will love them too! Meet Patches and Stripes!

(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!
Meows! Patches would be the pawfect apawtment cat for a single human. While she may never be a lap cat, she does like hanging out with humans. She is very quiet and around 8-10-years-old. Paws, she will do best with an adopter looking for a companion rather than a needy cat they have to entertain. She starts out a bit shy around strangers but is fine with a bit a time to adjust. She doesn't mind being petted but LOVES having her back scratched.

Pawingly, Stripes is kind of a pseudo scaredy-cat. She likes hiding behind a cabinet while leaning out to see what her foster mom is doing! Meows, Stripes falls into the cat-egory of “I flunked out of the barn cat program.” She's too softy to be a working cat but's she's not exactly a pet! Purrs, at 4-years-old, she's a complex cat in that even her foster mom can't touch her, yet she still wants to interact with her.

Purringly, Stripes never used to make eye-contact, now she seeks it out!

Paws, she loves licking Churu treats off her foster mom’s finger at treat time! She would be a great buddy for any single cat that needs a friend! MEOWS!!!

Meow, Patches and Stripes would love to find a loving home together! Purrings, they are sponsored as "two cats for one fee." They both would do well in homes with another adult cat. Purr, they were found together and enjoy each other's company, but, aren't necessarily bonded-buddies!

They are both spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped and ready to find their forever families!

BARKS! WOOFS! Happy Friday my friends! This being Easter weekend, I hope you have some pawsome pawlans to spend time at church and with family and friends! We wish you a blessed Easter.

Woofinglys, my friend "Lab Lady" from Lab Rescue brought by a 7-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever who is looking for her "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love her too! Meet Eleanor! She is looking for her home in a single-family dwelling with a physical fence. She needs to be the only female dog in the home. Barks, she needs an experienced dog owner as her adopter. She will have a training addendum with her adoption.

Eleanor is one of the happiest of happy dogs! She's all wiggles, wags, kisses, and snuggles. She greets everyone with so much energy! She loves humans.

Paws, she loves going for walks and will be pawsitively happy if her new humans could provide a couple walks daily. She might pull the leash to see interesting sight but does quite well on a leash, especially a harness. After about thirty minutes into the walk, she seems to have spent most of her energy and enjoys the walk at a more relaxed pace. When she returns home from walks, she is excited to see the humans who stayed at home.

Eleanor doesn't want to share her new home and humans with another dog because she wants all the lovin's she can get, she doesn't concern herself with other barking dogs.

Barkingly, Eleanor has a few needs she doesn't want to comprise, she wants a dog-savvy human and to be the only female dog in the home. She enjoys being spoken to in a quiet soft voice. She like her human to be sitting down when petting her. Woofs, she needs to be the only dog in the home.

Eleanor is a smart girl. She enjoys peanut butter Kongs and naps.

Woofings, Eleanor is a pawsitively nice dog who is hoping the right family will come along soon. She has been spending a lot of time at training getting ready for them! Experienced dog owners only please.

Eleanor is approved for mini-humans ages 10 and older as she has no history of living with young mini-humans. Woofs, no cats.
