Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Operation Paws for Homes

Looking for a dog to pet and cuddle with? One who will share affection with you?  Meet Crystal Gayle from Operation Paws for Homes!

"Crystal Gayle"
(C) Operation Paws for Homes
Crystal Gayle weighs around 21 lbs. is about 13 weeks old and her mom is a collie mix.

A great mellow personality is her fine trait, but she does love to pull out all her energy and play when there are others around for her to entertain.

Since Crystal Gayle is a young pup, still a baby, she will need to go to a home with children that are respectful of her size and age. The children must understand that tails are NOT for pulling!

Adopters interested in Crystal Gayle should not be out of the home for more than 4 hours at a time in order to continue her training!

She is up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and is already spayed.

A note from Operation Paws for Homes: "Crystal Gayle's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. She MUST stay out of public places where she could be exposed to the germs of many other dogs for another 3-5 weeks after she goes home. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. The requirements are for the puppy’s medical safety and are shared with all potential adopters to ensure awareness of the vaccination status."

Interested in meeting this sweetheart of a pup, you can do so by completing the Operation Paws for Homes Application.

Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Operation Paws for Homes

WOOF!!!!!!  Happy Friday!!  Got any pawsome plans for the weekend?  My human and I will probably go for a few nice long walks, work on the church grounds and go for a ride or two!  WOOF!!!

Dog adoption not only helps a dog needing a home and someone to share their love with, but the human benefits with having a companion to take places. I've become an important part of my humans family- THEY could NOT live without me, all because of dog adoption and a rescue organization.

A fiesty young lady came to visit me this week wanting to be introduced to you - she is from Operation Paws for Homes, her name is Patsy Cline!

"Patsy Cline"
(C) Operation Paws for Homes
Sweet Patsy is a Collie Mix, weights about 19.5 lbs. and is 13 weeks old.  And, is she ever ready to have some fun with her humans!  WOOF!!!  She is barkingly the right size- she can run with the big dogs and fit in with the small!

Patsy is house and crate trained. A smart girl, she is anxious for one on one training and attention!

"Patsy Cline"
(C) Operation Paws for Homes
A favorite moment her foster has with her is "how she lays on her side next to me trying not to fall asleep when I am busy on the computer - she wants to keep me company, and look alert, but her sweet eyes close and when she awakes, she looks a bit apologetic."

As Patsy is a young pup, she will require an adopter who isn't gone more than 4 hours at one time so her training can continue- no exceptions on this!

Barkingly, with her small size and young age, it's recommended that she goes to a home with children who are respectful of that and know tails are NOT for pulling!  WOOF!!

She is up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and is already spayed.

Interested in meeting this sweetheart of a pup? You can do so by completing the Operation Paws for Homes Application.

Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.

Labrador Retrievers make the most excellent dog for any and every family, any and every human, to adopt and take home and treat them like Kings or Queens and are the bestest dogs ever.  Uh, no, partiality at all- yes, uh, I'm a Black Labrador Retriever, and, well this opinion was provided by Labradors everywhere and I concurr.  WOOF!  BARK!!!!!

My friend, "Lab Lady" from Lab Rescue would probably agree with me- as she brought me two friends to introduce to you!  Meet Hunter and Cookie!

"Hunter"
(C) Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.
"Cookie"
(C) Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.

WOOF! Ladies first, this is Cookie, a 74 lbs., 6 year old Chocolate Labrador Retriever and Hunter is a 105 lbs., 7 year old,Yellow Labrador Retriever male. These two are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

These two characters are excellent in the crate and have great house manners for being former "outside" dogs.  They take verbal correction well and are motivated by food.  WOOF-who isn't??

Now, Cookie is my of the happy-go-lucky type and tends to be timid but has much more confidence when Hunter is around.  She likes to be friends with everyone.  While Hunter is more of a gentle giant.

A game of tetch is their favorite- they think it is the greatest game in the world and will bring the ball right back to you! On command Hunter will drop the ball at your feet and wait for you to throw it again!  BARK! BARK!!

Hunter and Cookie are great on a leash, enjoy car rides, but have no interest in the kiddie pool at all!

They both love to be with their humans and enjoy all the time they can paw!  Bark!

Neither has a history with cats or children.  Recommended for children ages 10 and up.

My two friends who are looking for their "Forever Home" are heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines!

If you would like to meet these two great characters- remember Labs are PAWSOME family dogs- and learn about dog adoption, please visit Lab Rescue- Tell "Lab Lady" Noah sent you!  WOOF!

"Katie"
(C) PetConnect Rescue

Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Lab Rescue of the L.R.C.P., Inc.

Every Friday is an exciting day for me, WOOF, I paw meeting friends who need "Forever Homes."  Whether a dog or cat, adoption is an exciting aspect for you and the dog or cat you've chosen.  The advantage of dog or cat adoption through a rescue is their knowledge of the animal and the willingness to help you make the adoption successful for everyone concerned... WOOF!!

Barkingly pawsome is my friend, "Lab Lady" from the Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.  Their volunteers, as well as those involved with other rescues and shelters, work tirelessly to find many dogs or cats homes.  Not all rescues have cats- but my mom is a cat fan so I share about them too. WOOF, er, uh, hiss? oh, meow.

"Lab Lady" has brought by a guy named Dax for you to meet!

"Dax"
(C) Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.
Dax is a 56 lbs., 2 year old male Black Labrador Retriever and comes from a rural area.  For now, he is looking for a "Forever Home" in a single family suburban and rural homes.

A good romp outside in the morning, after breakfast, and his morning constitution is just what this guys loves. WOOOOF!!!!! And, who wouldn't!
Dax is pretty good on leash, does pull at first, and he enjoys riding in the car! He loves other dogs and to play.

A smart, sweet, playful, loving, cuddly dog who is a joy to be around- he's house trained and loves humans.

Dax has been keeping a diary during his journey here is an excerpt:

Jun 15, 2015: Dax's Diary:

"Dax"
(C) Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.
"Hi everybody! My name is Dax and I'm looking for my "forever family." You see, my foster sister got adopted today and I got to meet them. Now I want one of those families for myself. Foster Mom says it will happen and that my forever family is out there. She also said getting close up pictures showing how handsome I am will help too. So I posed for her and now a little about me. I'm 2 years old and was a stray that no one wanted until Lab Rescue came along. They saw me for me! They saw that all I want to do is please people and be loved by them. I gladly return the love with major lab leans (sometimes they end up with my belly exposed and I love getting belly rubs) and awesome kisses. I have a little wiggle in my walk because when I was younger I had a break that didn't get treated so it healed a little wrong. It doesn't hurt and I can run and jump just fine. With being a stray, I got a lot of tick bites so I'm Lyme and Erchlichia positive but I'm being a good boy and taking my medicine without a problem.

I get along with dogs but I'm unknown with cats. Foster Dad did show me this cat asleep under a car when they picked me up & I ignored it.

So, I'm wondering....can you make my dream come true? If you think you're my forever family, contact Lab Rescue and come meet me!"
Love,
Dax

How can you resist?

Dax will need some training and will have a training addendum.  He has no children history, so he's recommended for ages 10 and up.

Dax is a He is up to date on his vaccines. Lyme and Ehrlichia positive on doxycycline. HW negative.

Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Operation Paws for Homes

WOOF! Hope you are having a pawsome Friday!  Am pleased to paw about a young friend I met through Operation Paws for Homes this week!  BARK!

Meet Tulsa Golden Hurricane, who is a beautiful female, Rottweiler/Heinz 57 Mix (GUESSING since mom is black and tan)!

"Tulsa Golden Hurricane"
(C) Michael Garth Photography
Tulsa was born February 5, and is ready for her "Forever Home." An adorable girl, she is waiting for that special human family to show her what true love is all about.

Operation Paws for Homes recommends Tulsa go to a home with children who are respectful of her size and age since she is a young pup full of energy. It's important children understand that tails are not for pulling!  BARK!! She will require an adopter who is not out of the home for more than 4 hours at a time to continue her training.

She is up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and will need to be spayed at the age of 16 weeks.

Pawthur, a special note for Operation Paws for Homes "as she is so young, she has only received 2 sets of the required 3 sets puppy vaccinations. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that her immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. She MUST stay out of public places where she could be exposed to the germs of many other dogs for another 8-10 weeks after she goes home. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are for the puppy’s medical safety and we share them with all potential adopters to ensure you are aware of the vaccination status."

A pawderful, pawsome dog for that special human family! If you would like to meet Tulsa and learn more about dog adoption, please visit Operation Paws for Homes!

"Rocky"
(C) PetConnect Rescue
A true gentleman with distinguishing graying around his face, adding to his good looks, Rocky is extremely friendly and greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail.

Though a bit cautious at first, Rocky plays well with other dogs.  He just likes to check out his friends before romping and playing.

Friday's Friend: Cat Adoption, PetConnect Rescue

WOOF!! Glad its the weekend- my human and I have been busy planning to do stuff together all weekend. I make great company for him and mom and he does for me- the beauty of dog adoption and cat adoption. Adopting a cat adds a delight to your weekends, as well as the rest of your life. WOOF!! er, MEOW!!!! arf?
"Dorrie"
(C) PetConnect Rescue

My friend Cat Lady from PetConnect Rescue brought a cool named named Dorrie for you to meet-

Dorrie is only 7 weeks old, mostly black kitten with really cool greenish eyes, already the life of the party!

Right now, she's a bit small, I had to be careful where I stepped and how loud I barked, she weighs 1.5 lbs. and has a lot of growing to do!

Dorrie was left in a basket at a local vet's office and then ended up in the care of Petconnect Rescue. WOOF!! WOOF!!!! Now, I'm in foster care now and love playing with a couple of the foster kittens.

Running, jumping and climbing up on cat trees are a few of his favorite things. After play time, Dorrie enjoys taking a snooze on a comfy pillow or in a cat bed. A warm lap would be wonderful too.

Due to her young age, I will need an adopter who is home (and available to play) for a good part of the day, or to be adopted out with another similar age kitten.

Interested in meeting Dorrie, please complete an PetConnect Rescue Application, and one of their Adoption Coordinators will contact you.

If you'd like to learn about cat adoption and procedures, please Adoption Procedures.

Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.

Happy Friday!!! WOOF!! Barkingly pawsome to meet up with my friend "Lab Lady" this week. She brought a friend named Jerry for you to meet. He is looking for his "Forever Home" and wanted to meet you- to see if you qualify.

Jerry is an interesting character, a 3 year old, 64 lbs., Black Labrador Retriever country boy! He is not cool with the city living- he wants a quiet neighborhood, not suitable for apartment/townhouse living.

"Jerry"
(C) Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.
Jerry is a a cool, fun-loving guy who is trying to regroup after his owner passed away and he ended up in the shelter.

Going for walks with Jerry is a a barkingly pawsome pleasure as he does pretty well on the leash only pulling and zig-zagging some. He prefers when dogs don't come up right to his face. A proper introduction gives him confidence.

Playing with toys is a barking blast as Jerry like to paw the toys that honk, wiggle or sing! Then, he gets a very quizzical look on his face and cannot truly paw where the sound is coming from...so he walks around to investigate. He's is awesome guy!

Jerry is a bit uneasy around men, though doing much better than before. He likes to check male humans out and get to know them- not fast though.

Jerry does well with other dogs and cats,

He has been treated for Lyme with antibiotics. He's current on all his vaccines.

Interested in meeting Jerry and learning about dog adoption?  Please contact my friend "Lab Lady" at Lab Rescue. Tell her "Noah" sent you!  WOOF!!!

Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Operation Paws for Homes

WOOF!!  HAPPY FRIDAY!!  Am pawleased to share with you a friend named "Mai Tai" from Operation Paws for Homes.  She is an energetic dog looking for an active family!

"Mai-Tai"
(C) Michael Garth Photography
A gorgeous Black Labrador Retriever, Mai Tai is 60 pounds, approximately 1 year old, and would make a great addition to a family!

Barkingly pawsome, her favorite thing in the whole world are belly rubs- I know the feeling- she will roll over and patiently wait for you to give her one- and then another!  No problem there- WOOF!!

"Mai-Tai"
(C) Michael Garth Photography
So many wonderful qualities about Mai Tai, just to name a few, very outgoing,  social dog, great with children. gets along well with other dogs, enjoys the dog park, house and crate trained, -she will even bark at you if she needs to go outside AND brings you her leash!! And, she will curl up with you every night if that is what you are looking for in a new four legged companion.

Most Labs are very alert and Mai Tai is no exception! Though not a frequent barker, she will let you know when someone is at the door.

Pawsing her young age, (teenager in dog years!), Mai-Tai will do best with forever parents who are confident and consistent in their continued training with her.  Operation Paws for Homes recommends enrolling in an obedience class so you can get to know Mai Tai's ques and she can learn to speak "your language". She would be a wonderful addition to an energetic family or couple.

** For first time dog owners, Operation Paws for Homes will require a training program for those interested in adopting Mai Tai. It's important for any adopter to have training in mind to help any new dog adjust to his new life!

Interested in meeting this great beautiful girl, arf?  And interested in learning about dog adoption?  Please visit Operation Paws for Homes!

Deedee is a little Siamese mix girl with white and buff mixed in, darker tail and BEAUTIFUL blue eyes.

Her kitten antics make foster mommy laugh!! She likes to have her little nose touch humans and sometimes give kitten kisses!
