Happy Father's Day!

Dog
(C) Allen Pearson
WOOF! Happy Father's Day to all fathers, whether you are human, canine, feline or any other pawsome animal! Have yourself a pawsome day, doing what you like to do best! BARKS!

To my human father, thank you for everything you have done and are doing to help me to enjoy life. I remember when we first met and you decided I was the one you want, or mom insisted you wanted (woof! woof!), to adopt and be your one-and-only, dog that is. On the way home, you looked at me and I looked back and we knew, this was a  match made in heaven.

Thank you, human father for all the walks, the games of fetch, the many non-destructible toys which lasted only a few minutes (woof! woof!), the delicious treats and food, the pawsome water, the many naps, the belly rubs and scratches on my ears. WOOF! Even though I hate to admit this, thank you for the trips to the Veterinarian! Though I don't like going, I've noticed you always selected what you consider the best Veterinarian to keep me healthy.

Happy Father's Day Dad!  Barks! Happy Father's Day to all father's!

Puppies
(C) PetConnect Rescue

WOOF! My pawsome friends at PetConnect Rescue are selling T-shirts to raise funds for their work with dogs and cats. Pawingly, there are 8 puppies coming soon to PetConnect Rescue!

Meet Julie, Jaspar, Jeff, Jane, Jake, Julian, Jessie, and Josie who all need your help! WOOF! Here's a bit about their story, "barks! we were abandoned, along with our mom, at just a few weeks old. Our mom helped us survive, but we got really sick. We were full of worms and other parasites. We all badly need medicine to make us healthy. Right now, we're in a shelter down south, but thank goodness that PetConnect Rescue agreed to take us in! We are coming to Maryland June 23 and are going to three different foster homes so none of us will be scared and lonely. Those fosters have to give all of us lots of medicine to get us well and ready for our forever homes!"

WOOF! The medications for these pawsome pups are expensive and the pups can't get healthy without them! WOOF! Barkingly, we have to see the Veterinarian too!

BARK! Can you help PetConnect Rescue help these puppies? WOOF! If you buy a T-shirt, not only will you get a pawesome, new, super soft T-shirt, you will be helping these puppies and many others like them! WOOF!!

My human has bought a a few of these T-shirts over the years and has loved the quality!

If you are not into T-Shirt, pawlease consider making a donation. WOOF! Paws to You!

WOOF! My pawsome friend "Lab Lady" came by this week to visit with a barkingly cool 3-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever for you to meet. Meet Emma!

Dog
Photo Credit: Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.
Creative: Allen Pearson
BARKS! Emma is looking for her "Forever Home" in a rural or suburban single-family home with a fence.

Emma is working pawsomely hard on mastering commands. She met with a trainer and she shared with her foster home how she recalls, “here” as opposed to “come.” She is learning more commands too.

Emma is crate-trained and will go in by your asking.  She isn't crated much during the day but she does sleep there most night.

Emma is a calm girl in the house if she gets enough playtime and outside time to rid her of "puppy energy!" She enjoys wrestling with the foster's resident dog.  Barkingly, when she's in the house, she becomes a couch potato or takes over a bed.

WOOF! Emma is house-trained too! Paws, she will let you know when she needs to go out by standing by the door! Barkingly, she's been accident-free in her foster house.

Barks, Emma will do best in a home where a human could be home with her during the day. She takes a while to "trust" her humans but it would be easier for her with someone in the home and will continue working with her manners and commands! WOOF!

Photo Credit: Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.
Creative: Allen Pearson
Paws, Emma would like to have a canine companion to wrestle with and help her run off her energy. Barkingly, a jogging buddy would work too! BARK!! When bored, she has stolen a shoe or two, though not chewing them, but to play "keep-away!" with me. I’ve since sprayed the shoes with bitter apple and she’s left them alone.

Paws, Emma loves the water! She had the oppawtunity to play in a pool and loved it! Barks, then she loved rubbing herself in the grass to dry off and really loved being dried off with the towel!

Woofs, Emma enjoys chasing squirrels way too much. Barks, she is too interested in cats too. So, no cats in her new "Forever Home!"

If you would like to learn more about dog adoption, meet or apply to adopt Emma, pawlease complete the Lab Rescue Dog Adoption Application!

Unable to adopt? Barkingly, how about supporting Emma financially? Donations will assist with Emma's care. Any extra funds will be used to assist other dogs at Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.. Interested, please donate HERE!

The Ultimate Dog Grooming Guide – How to Spruce Up Your Dog Like a Pro

We all love having a clean, healthy, and nice smelling dog, but getting him that way can break the bank. Not having the means to take your pup to a professional groomer doesn't mean that you are a bad owner.

After all, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to properly groom your dog by yourself. Our ultimate dog grooming guide contains information about all aspects of grooming care.

Besides bathing and brushing information you will learn that your dog requires paw, teeth, nail, and ear care. Tackling each one of these aspects will keep your dog clean, healthy, happy, and in your company for many years to come.

Most pups can stay clean and smelling nice for a month, but if you have an adventurous dog, bath him once a week. Use natural shampoos made specially for dogs.

For brushing pick a grooming tool specially designed for your dog's type of coat. Prevent matting and skin infections with regular brushing if you own a long-haired pup.

Invest in a proper paw care and treat your dog with a massage and moisturizing cream. A once in a while pedicure is also in order and we will teach you how to do it safely.

You can say good buy to foul breath and make your dog kissable by brushing his teeth every day. Special canine toothbrush and toothpaste will make this routine fun and enjoyable.

Cleaning your dog's ears is also a part of canine grooming and will prevent the occurrence of painful ear infections. There is a variety of natural cleaning solutions that don't cost much and are easy to make.

Read our complete dog grooming guide in order to learn ins and outs of grooming and tidy up your dog like a pro.

WOOF! Last weekend, I had a pawsome blast walking in the 2018 Lab Walk! I met quite a few  Labrador Retrievers who Lab Rescue assisted in finding homes and humans to love and got to catch up with my friend "Lab Lady!" The 2018 Lab Walk raised more than $171,000 in funds to assist Labrador Retrievers in finding "Forever Homes" and humans to love.

"Lab Lady" brought by a pawsome friend for you to meet, "Smokey!" Smokey is an 8-year-old Black Labrador Retriever who is looking for a "Forever Home" in a rural or suburban single-family home with a fence!

Smokey is looking for a patient family who will provide lots of love and positive training. He is hoping the new family will understand he hasn't been exposed to much so he will need time to adjust to noises, figuring out stairs and the like. WOOF! Barkingly, he is an affectionate fella too.

Smokey has good house-manners, loves to go for walks and hanging out in a fenced backyard. He loves to go for rides in a car and loves his Kong.

Smokey is good with other dogs he's met, has no history with cats, and is recommended for mini-humans ages 10 and older.

Interested in meeting or adopting Smokey? Pawlease complete the Lab Rescue Dog Adoption Application.
