"WOOFS! Barks!"

"Meows! MEOWS! Purrs!"

"Samson and I are welcoming 'Abigail Aria,' we call her 'Abby,' to our family and to "from The Dog's Paw!

Abby is a rescued puppy! Homeless Animals Rescue Team (HART) rescued Abby's mother when she was pregnant with Abby and her siblings! When she was born, she was cared for by a pawsome human foster family before she was adopted. Barkingly, they soon learned that a puppy isn't the best fit for their family. WOOFS! Barkingly, a puppy needs time, lovin's, and lots of training! They are a handful as our pawsome humans are learning!"

"Meows! Abby, the mostest beautiful sweet Black Labrador Retriever mix joining our family at a 5-months-old on October 18, 2020! She has been working with Dad, Mom, and Dog Trainer named Vic Cruz of Cruz Canine Consultants to learn how to live with humans and the manners she must have! Purrs! She is doing really well, a meowingly smart and sharp young lady!"

"WOOFS! Selecting a name for 'Abigail Aria' wasn't easy! Her rescue name was Josslyn, but our humans didn't like it. Barkingly, they prefer using Bible names but their research didn't really find a name they liked. The second preference is classical music genres or composer names. Dad liked the genre's term "Aria" so she was almost named that. Pawingly, when Dad went to research a piece of classical music that he heard and liked, he quickly discovered the "Aria" movement is one of evil mischief. Nope! Don't want to do that as the first name.  We'll research classical music to find another 'Aria' piece we like! For now, it's back to the drawing board! WOOFS!"

One of Dad's bestest buddies mentioned the name, Abigail. Dad did his usual research but went a bit further with a Study Bible and a reference book. He learned the name means, 'joy, joyful, or to rejoice!' Yes, he probably went a bit further to find a name for her than most pet parents. However, as with a mini-human, you want to be sure the name means something that represents you and the dog well. Since Abby was adopted during the COVID-19 nonsense, she is definitely a pawsitive representation of 'joy.'"

"MEOWS! Abby will be writing a few posts and pawssibly reviewing some dog travel and safety products! Meowingly, we'll see as we have temporarily halted product reviews while we consider some guidelines as to what we'll consider! Barks! After all, we cannot and will not review each and every product that comes our way! Paws, we always reserve the right to refuse to review any products, not to our standards."

"WOOFS! Woof! Barkingly, pawlease welcome our sweetheart, the newest member of our family and the 'from The Dog's Paw' team, Abigail Aria (Abby)!

WOOF! WOOF! My friends at PetConnect Rescue brought by a strikingly handsome fella named Rio for you to meet and consider adopting! He is around 5-years-old, and a Plott Hound/Labrador Retriever mix. He will require a house with a fenced backyard!

(C) 2021, from The Dog's Paw!
Rio is crate- and house-trained!

Rio loves to run in the yard and go for hikes! He is great with humans and loves to snuggle after a run or playing fetch! He knows pawlenty of commands too.

Rio is good with other dogs after a slow introduction. Barkingly, he would prefer to be your one-and-only-dog-that-is! He wants ALL of your attention! Barks!

Rio has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines and preventatives! He is barkingly excited to find his new "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love him too!

Friday's Friend! Cat Adoption, PetConnect Rescue

Meows! Meow! Happy Friday my fine feline friends... and humans too! My friend "Cat Lady" stopped by this week with a beautiful cat for you to consider adopting for your bestest-feline-friend-ever! Meet Athena!

Purringly, Athena is the mostest sweetest, gentlest, affectionate-est, and playfulest cat! She loves curling up on a human's lap and purring her sweet little heart out! When she's not snuggling, she plays with kitty-abandon- stalking, chasing, and pouncing on her toys!

Paws, things weren't always easy for Athena. Since she was 6-weeks-old, now she's 4-years-old, she only knew one human. When her human Dad suffered a serious stroke and couldn't take of her, PetConnect Rescue took her in. Though she loved and trusted her Dad, she was afraid of everyone else!

Meows and purrs, with some time, she's learned to trust her foster family and has developed into an affectionate feline with a bit of an impish side.

Purringly, since she has had no contact with other humans, besides her former owner, new environments and people will always be a bit scary for her. Paws, with a little time and patience, she can transition to a new "Forever Home!" and become a pawsomely loving feline companion.

Meows, to learn more about cat adoption, pawlease visit PetConnect Rescue's Adoption Guide

If you would like to meet Athena or apply to pawssibly adopt her, pawlease complete the PetConnect Rescue Cat Adoption Application

Meows! Do you love cats, but, for whatever reason, are not able to adopt? Please consider

Happy First Day of Spring!

(C) 2021, from The Dog's Paw!
(C) 2021, from The Dog's Paw!

"WOOF! I wish I could dance like the dog in that image, for more than a few seconds- that is! When I see a snake, I do dance kinda like that to warn my human! Barks!"

"MEOWS! If I saw you dance like that, even if there was a snake, I'd head the other way as fast as I can because I'd know that there is something wrong with you- as I have expected all along our existence as dog and cat brothers!"

"WOOFS! Well, happy Spring my cat brother! I know you love this season since you'll be seeing more birds coming into the yard looking for places to build their nests if not one of the birdhouses Dad put up in the backyard!"

"Purrs, yes, I love the birds! I love watching the Northern Cardinals dive bomb Dad! I know you are doing to love being outside with Dad more too! You love those long walks in warm weather ... oh.. and I forgot... Noah, you always find yourself a girlfriend, don't you?! Seems like I remember a mostest beautiful Rottweiler that got your attention a few Springs ago- and, kept it? Paws, wasn't her name Kady? I think she liked you too!"

"arf!? Yup, you're right- but she likes me all the time, not just the Spring, and I like her all the time too- ...! WOOFS!"

"MEOWS! (WOOFS!) Happy Spring dear friends!"

Daylight Savings Time Returns Sunday, March 14, 2021, at 2 a.m.!

(C) 2021, from The Dog's Paw!

"Meows! You know Noah, it's back! Paws, purrs, tomorrow we will be on Daylight Saving Time again!"

"WOOF! Yep! Moving the daylight from the morning to the evening! I like it as it gives Dad and me more time to go for evening walks, exploring our universe, and playing fetch in the backyard! Ahhh- spring!"

"Purrs! It makes no difference to me! I'm a blessed indoor cat and daylight is daylight and night is night! Paws, my humans are always around to wait on me hand and paw!"

"Dad starts setting the clocks forward throughout the house on Saturday morning. Woofs! After he gets up for the day, he changes the bedroom alarm clock one hour ahead. After that, he changes the clocks in the house least used during the day, like the bathroom, sunroom, and living room to mention a few. At bedtime, the rest of the clocks are changed or they can wait until Sunday. He doesn't have to worry about forgetting to change his alarm or oversleeping and missing church on Sunday because those clocks were changed first thing in the morning!"

"Purrs! NOAH! Didn't grandma used to have one of the cat clocks in her kitchen???"

Meows! DON'T FORGET: SPRING FORWARD! Move those clocks ahead one hour- TONIGHT!

WOOF! WOOF! Happy Friday my friends! My pawsome friend "Lab Lady" from Lab Rescue stopped by this week with a really cute girl for you to meet! I just love her floppy ears, don't you! Meet Floppy!

WOOFS! Bark, Floppy is around 2-years-old, a female Black Labrador Retriever, mixed with a breed with floppy ears, who is looking for her "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love her too! She needs a single-family home, no townhouse, with a fenced backyard. Since Floppy's puppies have all been adopted, she is looking for her home.

Floppy went on a fun adventure in the woods with her foster's dog looking for deer antlers. She did well on a leash and did great when she got off-trail. She loves going for a walk. She is very sweet and playful. See her video, Floppy in the Woods!

Paws, Floppy can decide whether her ears go up or down, and combined with her sweet face, your heart will melt! She is a pawsomely grand sweetheart!

Floppy is house- and crate-trained! She sleeps through the night too. She loves lounging on the couch or the dog bed.

Now that she's done with raising her puppies, and being a youngster herself, she is acting like a young puppy herself!

Floppy needs a home with a physical fence where she can romp and play all day! She loves playing with toys and balls and all the human attention she can get! She wouldn't mind another dog companion!

Floppy is good with other dogs but not cats. She is approved for mini-humans ages 10 and older!

MEOWS! Happy Friday my friends! My friend "Miss Sherry" from Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P) stopped by again this week with an adorably sweet, almost as sweet as me, cat for you to consider adopting. She is looking for her "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love her too! MEOWS!

(C) 2021, from The Dog's Paw!
Katherine has gone through some rough times but it's all history now. She is getting the care, attention, and extra lovin's from the kind volunteers at A3P! She is adapting to her new life quite well! She still has some issues with her gait in her leg. Though there is nothing that can be done for it, she is enjoying her new life.
This grateful and loving regal beauty is around 13-years-old. Katherine is looking for a "Forever Home!" with a warm, comfortable bed, a consistently healthy diet, and the loving touch of her new humans!

Paws, like a lot of humans, Katherine will need joint and pain medication but that's a small price for the sweet lovin's you get in return!

MEOWS! If you would like to meet Katherine, sponsor her expenses, pawssibly adopt her, pawlease contact Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P) or a3p.petlovers@gmail.com.

Barks! WOOF! Happy Friday! My pawsome friend "Miss Sherry" from the Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P) brought by this week's "Friday's Friend!" for you to meet! WOOFS! Paws, meet my new pal Noel! He is looking for his "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love him!

(C) 2021, from The Dog's Paw!
Sadly, GROWL! Noel was found tied to the handrail of A3P's new rescue center on Christmas Eve! WOOF! She had been out there before any daylight- thankfully she was discovered by a volunteer who brought her inside the rescue center!

BARKS! Noel is a sweet but apprehensive girl. She is around 1-year-old, good with other dogs and pawssibly with cats. She is very happy, loving and barkingly happy to lay on her human's lap when she's not busy playing with the other pups in the rescue.

Noel is headed to get her preventatives, vaccinations, and any medical care she needs so she will be ready to go home with you! WOOFS!
