Friday's Friend! Cat Adoption, Operation Paws for Homes!

Meows, purrs, happy Friday my fine friends! You know, having a cat in your home will make every weekend, purringly every day for that matter, better! My friends from Operation Paws for Homes brought by a pawsome kitty named Sweet Pea who is looking for her "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love her too!

Sweet Pea was found as a stray. An Operation Paws for Homes volunteer found her and taken to the rescue!

Purringly meows, don't let her sometimes grumpy-looking expression fool you! Paws, she comes by her name honestly! She loves humans of all ages!

Sweet Pea does well with other cats. She will show them whose boss!

Purringly, she has a good life in foster care but meowingly wants to find her own human to love and will be devoted to her. She needs a human to show how pawsome she is!

Sweet Pea likes being pet, being with her humans, chicken-flavored Temptation treats, her catnip banana, and being brushed. She doesn't ceiling fans, paws though she is getting used to them, and having her ears cleaned!

Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, Operation Paws for Homes

WOOF! Happy Friday! My friends from Operation Paws for Homes brought by two pawsome dogs looking for a "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love them too! 

Meet Yoyoma, 6-years-old, a medium-size, female, adult American Bulldog! She wants to be your one and only loyal companion! She would pawsitively love to take naps and watch TV with you! She is athletic, not hyper, but energetic!

Yoyoma loves to exercise by playing ball in a fenced yard! The higher the fence the better! She likes taking walks preferring to stay closer to home. Barkingly, sniffing to discover new smells, reading local pee-mail, and leaving her own replies, instead of long walks is fine with her! 

Barkingly paws, Yoyoma would rather hang out with you than be in large crowds. She is cautious with strangers. Pawingly, once she gets to know them, she's ready for belly rubs! 

Paw, while she has played with her foster's dogs, she prefers to be your one-and-only-dog-that-is! 

Yoyoma knows some obedience. She goes in her crate on command and is potty-trained which is great on those inclement weather days! Rules and boundaries will help her feel comfortable! 

Barkingly, her foster parent has grand mini-humans who have played ball with her. She likes how they tell her to sit first then to retrieve!

Woofs, Yoyoma is best in a home without other dogs and pawticularly no cats! She is no suitable for a condo, apartment, or other urban settings. 

Yoyoma is so pawsomely special that she is eligible for an extended trial adoption. You two can check each other out! If that works for you, pawlease apply to adopt!

Woofs, meet my pawsome friend Kalei!

Woofs! Kalei is around 6-years-old! She is a pawssibly a Labrador Retriever and Pit Bull mix!

Kalei makes friends with humans and dogs everywhere she goes! She loves going for walks.

Barkingly, she is happy to do yoga with you or help you by coaching while you work out. 

WOOF! WOOF! Kalei enjoys snuggling and relaxing too. If you invite her, she will curl up with you while watching TV! Barkingly, she doesn't usually get on the furniture on her own!

Sweet Kalei does need some accommodation! She cannot be crated. She does really well in a home with a fenced backyard and a doggie door. She is looking for her "Forever Home!" with those features so she can let herself out to go potty! 

Barkingly, she will do best in a home with dogs close to her size and larger. She's been around mini-humans and likes them.

Taking Your Pet To Work Week!

WOOFS! Paws, I'm lucky, and so is my human! I get to go to work with him all day everyday! Since he is a photographer and writer, working from home except on his dog photo shoots! WOOFS! Barkingly, I am the one who comes up with the topics for us to write about! Woofs, don't tell anyone but I am the creative genius behind his photography- so is Samson!

Mom's job would be fun for me! She works as a church hostess which could mean lots of food and drinks and snacks that would be pawsitively delicious for me. Pawingly, that would not be allowed though- arf. And, she works part of her day in accounting. 

Barkingly, if humans could take their pets to work with them, their workdays would be so much more fun than ever before! Paws, their coworkers would have fun too. Work would no longer be boring?!?  Barks and they will get much more work done too. Woofs! 

Pawingly, our new friends at the Human Animal Bond Reserach Institute (HABRI) have provided us with a pawsome infographic encouraging businesses to allow employees to bring pets to work.

WOOFS! Happy Friday! My pawsome friend the "Great Dane Dame" of the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League brought by a pawsome Great Dane for you to meet, Phoebe!

Phoebe is a 4-year-old Black Great Dane who is playful, sweet, and will do best in a quiet home though she could adjust to any home. She is super affectionate and loves laying her head in your lap soaking up all the pawssible attention she can get- yup! a Velcro Dane! Barkingly, a good listener, and a pawsome companion too! She does a good job entertaining herself with squeaky toys and bones. 

Barkingly, sweet Phoebe walks well on a leash and knows some basic commands, "sit," "down," and "off!"

Phoebe has started meeting humans other than her foster parents. She comes across as shy at first, but within a few minutes will warm up. Though she barks at new humans, she is really saying that she's nervous! 

She has discovered kitchen counters, though she doesn't turn down a yummy treat, she doesn't counter surf either. WOOFS!

Barkingly, Phoebe enjoyed being outside and happy to greet the neighbor's dogs through the fence. She is alert and loves exploring all the interesting sounds! Woofs, she gets the zoomies and races around the yard! 

Woofingly, Phoebe has lived with other large dogs and is currently living with an older dog of 55 lbs. She has shown interest in the foster's Chinchilla and some squirrels, barking, so no cats in her "Forever Home!" at this point.

Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, Lab Rescue!

WOOF! WOOF! Happy Friday! I am happy to be back to writing about my friends needing "Forever Homes!" though it would be nice if they were all adopted and I didn't have to write about them! We have had one crazy few weeks preparing to move and then moving to a home in the country. I haven't seen so much green space and trees in all my dog years! Barks! Abby and I are going to love running and playing in our new backyard! More on this adventure in future posts.

Barks, my friend "Lab Lady" from Lab Rescue brought two Black Labrador Retrievers who are looking for their "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love them too!  Hope and Faith area around 2-years-old are looking for their "Forever Home!" in a single-family house or townhouse. A physical fence is required! These two girls are bonded buddies who must be adopted together! They will have a training addendum attached to their adoption. 

Hope and Faith are pawsitively happy dogs with the sweetest disposition who are trying to learn how to live indoors! WOOFS! 

Leashes are new to them but they are showing progress as they learn their skills of leash walking! 

WOOFS! Barkingly, they are house-trained and know some commands! They ride well in the car and are champion nappers!

Barks, they get along well with the resident Labradors and smaller dog of their foster parent. 

Woofingly, Faith has taken on the most impawtant responsible duty of keeping the yard free of squirrels. Paws, they should likely NOT go to a home with cats. WOOFS! 

Hope and Faith are friendly girls. Faith will initially bark when an unknown human comes to the house! She settles when she determines the human is okay! WOOFS! 

The girls are easy-going dogs who like to check in with one another but are comfortable doing their own thing too. Barks, they are extremely bonded-buddies! Hope and Faith are extremely bonded, very outgoing, and social unless you take one of them away from the other. At that point, they become very shy. The two really depend upon each other! Barks! Watch their vid- Faith & Hope are BFFs!

MEOW! What a crazy month it has been! It's been really fun to watch my humans packing and preparing to move, then finally moving to our new home in the country! At first, I was mad when we got there since it was all so quick. Purrs, more stories about our adventures to come! Paws, I am so happy to be writing again and visiting with my friend "Cat Lady" from PetConnect Rescue! She and her team of volunteers have been working diligently to help cats find their "Forever Homes!" with humans to love who will love them back! She brought by a handsome character named "Magic" for you to meet and consider adopting!

Magic is around 2-years-old and a domestic shorthair! He is an amazing boy with a pawsomely grand pawsonality who would fit into any home! He loves dogs, is easy-going, and would make a great family addition.

Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, Cat Adoption, Returns Friday, June 11

HISS! HISS! Man, our my humans busy and crazy these days! I have never seen Dad go and do so much for as many days in a row! From a moving delay by the movers to contractor delays and hand carrying many pawsonal pawrecious treasures to the new house, they've been busy! Meows!

Barks, I have known them longer than you and Abby and I haven't seen them this busy! WOOFS! All exciting though! Once the move is finished, we get to enjoy life in the country near the Shenandoah Mountains!
