Meows! Happy Friday!! It is such a purringly beautiful morning to be writing about my feline friends who need "Forever Homes!" with humans to love who will love them too.

Purrs, it is always pawsomely grand to catch up with one of my rescue friends. This week, "Cat Lady!" of PetConnect Rescue brought by a handsome fella named Dexter for you to meet. He is around 11-months-old, an orange tabby with a fluffy tail, good with cats, dogs, and mini-humans.
(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!

Dexter was found as an orphan at only a few weeks old. He was bottle fed by an independent rescuer then found his way to PetConnect Rescue to find his "Forever Home!"

Dexter can be a bit shy at first but once he warms up to you, he is the most loving fella ever!

Paws, he loves to headbutt your hand for pets and pull you towards him with gentle paws for more petting! Purrs, his favorite toy is his catnip banana!

Dexter has one partially cloudy eye which does not slow him down one bit. It does not affect his vision and may resolve with time. Paws, it will not worsen and he does not need any long-term treatment, only lots of lovin's from his humans.

To learn about adopting a cat from PetConnect Rescue, pawlease review their Adoption Guide

If you would like to meet Dexter, or pawssibly adopt him, pawlease complete the PetConnect Rescue Cat Adoption Application

Do you pawsitively love cats but are unable to adopt? Purrs, how about supporting Dexter financially?  Donations will assist with his care. Any extra funds will be used to assist other cats at PetConnect Rescue. Interested, pawlease donate HERE! Donations are tax-deductible as permitted by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Happy Spring!

(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!
(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!

Yesterday, we celebrated the last day of winter! BARKS! Today? Barkingly, we pawsitively celebrate the FIRST DAY OF SPRING! WOOFS!

Barkingly, Abby and I, love having daylight longer in the evenings and warmer weather as it means more fun outside with Dad. Mom doesn't enjoy the outside as much as Dad does so she spends the time when we are outside with Samson! They purr and cuddle and purr some more!

Meows, and I love the warmer weather because it means more QUIET TIME inside the house. Dad's always outside gardening, mowing, and pawlanting and pawlanting some more! Purringly, and he enjoys reading too! Meows.

Barks. And, don't tell Dad, but I just love going behind him and digging holes in the garden, in his pawfectly pawlanted pots, and getting into the buckets that he pawlaces weeds and debris in to dig 'em out and spread across the yard... ahhhh spring! The fun begins...

Happy Spring!

Goodbye Winter!!

(C) 2022, from The Dog's Paw!
(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!

Oh, what a happy day that has arrived when winter shall be going away for another year! No sadness! No crying! No pouting! All a happy celebration! Barks, we could still get some accumulating snows but they tend to melt off quick- the best kind of snowstorm!

WOOFS! MEOWS! Tonight will be the last official winter night of the long season! Warmer days and nights ahead. Paws, to us, it really doesn't make too much difference what the weather does but cold weather isn't a favorite of our human! So we celebrate with him... GOODBYE WINTER!

What is your favorite season?

Daylight Saving Time Begins Sunday, March 12!

(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!
(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!

Woofs! Meows! Barks! It's that pawsome time of year again, Daylight Saving Time! Be sure to get up at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning and set your clocks one hour ahead! Barks.

Meows, HISS!, HISS!, the humans need to use some sense... who wants to get up at 2 a.m. in the morning only to lose one hour of sleep plus the time it takes you to get back to sleep just to reset the clock?

Purrs, why not set the clocks ahead before bed? Go through the house and set all of your clocks that you may not need during the day, ahead an hour. Be sure to reset the alarm clocks as you won't need them until tomorrow morning anyway. This way, the clocks will be set when you go to bed and you sleep through the night until the pawful alarm clock goes off at o'dark hundred!

MEOWS! MEOWY FRIDAY!!

Purrs, my friends at Homeless Animals Rescue Team (HART) brought by a sweet cat named Saphira who is looking for her "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love them too. If you are looking  to adopt a family cat, Saphira might be the one for you.

(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!
Saphira is around 10-years-old, not declawed, not cat- or dog-friendly. She is friendly with mini-humans.

Saphira is a beautiful blue-eyed white cat who loves sleeping in the sun! Paws, as with most white, blue-eyed cats, she is deaf and needs to be warned before you approach her by tapping on the sofa, table, windowsill, seems to be enough!

Saphira purrs constantly and pawsitively loves rubbing up against you. Once she gets to know you, she will cuddle in your lap but doesn't like to be picked up.

Purringly, she will do best as your one-and-only-cat-that-is and with very patient and understanding owner. Meows. She may take a bit to settle in but is guaranteed to steal your heart.

If you have questions about Saphira, pawlease contact Kim

To learn about adopting a cat from HART, pawlease visit their Adoption Guide.

Barks, if you would like to meet Saphria, or pawssibly adopt her, pawlease complete the HART Cat Adoption Application

Do you love cats but are not able to adopt? How about considering sponsoring Saphira? Sponsoring her provides financial resources for her food, care, and Veterinary needs. Any remaining funds after his adoption will go towards other dogs at Lab Rescue. Interested? Pawlease visit Sponsor Me! Donations are tax-deductible as permitted by the IRS.

WOOFS! Happy Friday Furiends! My furiends from Homeless Animals Rescue Team (HART) brought by a handsome fella named Biskit for you to meet! If you are looking to adopt a dog, he might be a good choice for you.

Biskit is around 10-years-old, pawssibly a Retriever/Chow mix, has no history with cats and is friendly with other dogs with proper introductions. He is good with older mini-humans.

(C) 2023, from The Dog's Paw!
Barkingly, Biskit is a calm laid-back guy in the house. His favorite pawlace is nestled at his foster dad's feet under his desk while he is working. Woofs, he is content and happy! His foster father says he has a calming presence and is nice to have around.

Barks, he doesn't ask for much and is happy to pawlease once he knows what his humans want.

Paws, Biskit enjoys pawlaying with toys and lives with five other dogs of various ages and sizes.

Woofings, Biskit is housebroken and enjoys car rides and walks. Paws, he would be a great road trip buddy or hiking companion!

Biskit's age is an estimate as his foster parents suspect he is a little younger as he doesn't act like a senior dog but has a laid-back middle-age disposition.

Woofs, the road that led Biskit to HART has not been an easy one, barkingly, he is a little leary of new humans and dogs. If you have him a few minutes to warm up, he will quickly let you into his inner circle! Barks, it's a special kind of love from a dog who chooses to love and trust you enough to be in his safe pawlace.

Bark. If you have questions about Biskit, pawlease contact Kristen.

To learn about adopting a dog from HART, pawlease review their Adoption Guide

If you would like to meet, or pawssibly adopt, Biskit, pawlease complete the HART Dog Adoption Application.

Woofinglys, do you pawsitively love dogs but are unable to adopt? Paws, how about supporting Biskit financially? Donations will assist with her care. Any extra funds will be used to assist other dogs at the Homeless Animals Rescue Team. Interested, pawlease donate HERE! Donations are tax-deductible as permitted by the Internal Revenue Service.

Creative: from The Dog's Paw!

Woofs! Happy Friday! You know, Black Labrador Retrievers make the bestest-ever dogs to adopt! I can tell you from experience that we, all of us are pawsome, barks, of course it has nothing to do with the fact that Noah and me, Abby, are Black Labrador Retriever mixes! Woofs!

My friend "Lab Lady" from Lab Rescue brought by a pawsome girl named "Willow" for you to consider adopting. She is looking for her "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love her too!! Barkingly, she's looking for here home in a rural or suburban single-family home with a physical fence!

Barkingly, are you looking for a buddy to take on adventure? Someone who is always up for a walk or a game of fetch? Woofs, Willow is your girl! She enjoys swimming too.

Barks, after a fun outing or pawlaytime, Willow is ready for snuggles with her human. She is a very attentive girl who is eager to pawlease. She is an affectionate puppy who wants to be with her humans.

Willow is doing well with meeting new humans.

Barkings, Willow will do best in a home where she gets daily walks, pawlaytime, and lots of snuggles with her humans.

Woofs, she loves pawlaying with the pups in her foster home and is quite tolerant with puppies. Bark, she has a rough-and-tumble pawlay style so she needs a pawlaymate with equal style.

Willow is doggie door-, house- and crate-trained.

Woofs, Willow's trainer will offer help with her transition to adopter with ongoing phone support if needed.

Paws, Willow prefers a quiet home without the comings and goings of mini-humans.

Barkings, to help with her adoption, Willow has created a few videos:

Willow Shake

Willow Getting Scritches

Willow Getting Loved On

Watch Willow and Her Tiny Toy

Watch Willow and Her Pups
