Meows! Meows! Purr, yes it's the "Friday's Friend (Saturday Edition!)" Yesterday, I ran out of time writing my posts after a crazy busy week. Paws, my human started a part-time job and he's still trying to learn to manage his time and I kept having problems with the computer. I'm not allowed on the computer when my humans aren't home so I am catching up today! Purrs!

Paws, my friend "Miss Sherry" from Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P) brought by two cats looking for "Forever Homes!" and humans to love! Meow, they can be adopted together or separately.

Meet Dunnigan. He is quite the strikingly handsome and confident fella! He was found as a stray and is adapting nicely in his foster home!

Torah is around 8-months-old. He's a sweet loveable fella who found his way to Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P) after his human developed serious allergies!

Meows, neither kittie has had much exposure to dogs. Purr, it appears Dunnigan might be a better fit for a home with a dog. Paws, as with any new pets, proper introductions are impawtent! Purr. Torah and Dunnigan are good with other cats.

Torah and Dunnigan are anxiously awaiting their new families! They are neutered, UTD on shots, and microchipped.

To learn more about cat adoption, apply to pawssibly adopt or meet either or both cats, or learn how to sponsor them, pawlease visit Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P),  call (571) 408-0381, or email, a3p.petlovers@gmail.com.

Meow, meow, normally, the Humane Society of Loudoun County requires cats and kittens adopted from them to be indoor-only. Purringly, they may need to make an exception for Misty. She loves being outside chasing mice! She makes a great mouser. Paws, she comes when called too- Meows, she thinks she's a dog!

Meows, Misty gets along with the dogs in her foster home. Paws, she does not like sharing her home or humans with other cats!

WOOF! WOOF! Barks, today my friend "Lab Lady" from Lab Rescue shared a bittersweet story about a Chocolate Labrador Retriever looking for his "Forever Home" and a human to love. Paws, before I share about Roscoe, you will want to grab a tissue or two.

Paws, Roscoe's human has terminal Leukemia so he contacted Lab Rescue several months ago to see if when his health got worse if they would find Roscoe a new home. Woof. Prior to contacting Lab Rescue, he researched places to take him and received several recommendations. arf! Then he contacted several humans who have adopted from Lab Rescue to make certain Roscoe would be taken care of! barks.

Barkingly, recently, Roscoe's human has been hospitalized unexpectedly twice. Barks, he told Lab Rescue it was time to give him up so he would be safe! Lab Rescue told him they'd find him a good home and keep him informed about how he is doing! bark. sniff. bark. Woofingly, most owner "give-ups" are easier than this but the human lives along with Roscoe as his buddy! Barks, Lab Rescue talked about the pawssibility of Roscoe staying with him and calling them if he had to go into the hospital. Paws, Roscoe's human decided he'd rather know that Roscoe has a new home and that he wouldn't have worry about where he was going. WOOF! WOOF!

Roscoe is a 9-year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever!! He is looking for a home in a single-family house located in a rural or suburban area. He requires a fenced yard!

Roscoe is a handsome fella and very active for his age! He loves being petted and making humans his friend! Paws, though he loves attention, he's not a big snuggler. He will put his head in your lap when he wants something like a snack or go out! WOOF!

Roscoe enjoys playing fetch though he shouldn't do a lot of it due to bad joints. He enjoys retrieving balls too. He has no problems climbing stairs to the 2nd floor. WOOF!

Barkingly, Roscoe loves sleeping on a dog bed in the bedroom near his humans. WOOF!

Roscoe knows some basic commands! He walks well on a lead, is house- and crate-trained though he doesn't need to be crated. He's had run of his foster's home and will let you know when he needs to go out!

Watch Roscoe at: Roscoe's Video Debut!

Roscoe is good with other dogs. He is recommended for mini-humans ages 10 and older! He has an unknown history with cats.

WOOF! WOOF! Barks, if you would like to learn more about adopting a dog from Lab Rescue, pawlease visit Lab Rescue Adoption Process Guide.

Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Barks, my pawsome friend the "Great Dane Dame" from the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League stopped by with a remarkably pawsome Great Dane for you to meet. Meet Miss Maeve who has made incredibly great progress while at the rescue. She seems to have been on her own for quite a while as she was emaciated and had some medical issues. She has been with her foster Mom for a while who has been giving some lovin's and attention! WOOF!

Maeve, around 3-years-old, is loving the indoor life and finding out how comfy a couch is! She loves playing with soft toys and enjoys through them in the air and catching them and she loves running around the backyard at fast as she can! Her long legs don't always do what her brains say so it's hilarious to see what she does! Barkingly, she enjoys laying outside in the sun too! Barks!

Maeve isn't used to living in a house so she needs time and patience to learn the ropes. She will need an adopter who will be firm with her boundaries and training. She will have a training addendum as part of her adoption requirement so she can be-the-bestest-dog-she-can-be!

Paws, Maeve loves human attention and have pawsitively NO clue what personal space is. She prefers a home where she will not be left alone frequently.  Barks, at least until she's more trusting and know she isn't being abandoned.

Maeve will do best in a home as your one-and-only-dog-that-is! She will need exercise too. She will do best with older mini-humans. She has no cat history.

Barks, if you would like to learn more about adopting a Great Dane, meet Maeve or apply to adopt her, pawlease visit the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League Adoption Guide.

WOOF! Do you love Great Danes, but, for whatever reason, are not able to adopt? Please consider
supporting Miss Maeve financially. Donations will assist with her care. Any extra funds will be used to assist other Great Danes at the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League. Interested, pawlease donate HERE!

Happy Fall Equinox!

Fall Equinox
(C) Allen Pearson Photography

While my human is scrambling and running outdoors to take advantage of every ray of sunshine and every minute of warm, if not hot, weather. He is a bit crazy, which is fine as I still love him, but does love the spring and summer weather. Fall is a distant third place with winter being dead last! Fall isn't a favorite because it means the cold wintry Virginia weather isn't far behind. This year, I am hoping we get tons of snow, but don't tell my human I said that!

Happy Fall!

Does Fall bring any special events or activities outside for you and your human(s)? If so, pawlease share in the comments below! Barks and Meows!
