Barkingly, Seven is around 3-years-old and pawssibly a Hound mix weighing around 44 lbs.  She enjoys walks, mental stimulation, and pawlaytime! She has the typical young dog energy level enjoying being active. Click here to see the videos she created to help get adopted.

Woofs, when Seven first arrived at OPH, she needed to learn some manners so she was enrolled in a pawsome training program called Happy Hounds Prison Dog Program! Paws, her foster mother shares that Seven has excellent house manners since graduating from the program. WOOFS!

Ruff, Seven was timid but learned to adjust to a structured regimen and trust her new family.

Barkingly, Seven likes to relax and take naps while her foster mom is working. Ruffs.

Woofs, Seven is a very smart girl, knows basic commands, always pays attention to her humans, and learns new words/phrases quickly. She loves pawlaying with her toys, especially soft toys with squeakers and tennis balls, pawlaying fetch, hide-and-seek, and tug-of-war. Outside, she likes following her nose exploring the yard chasing squirrels and rabbits. She would be happiest and do best in a fenced yard.

Paws, Sevens likes playing with other dogs especially if they like running and exploring. She doesn't like pawlaying too rough. If another dog pawlaying too rough, she will opt to lay at your feet and enjoy the sunshine. Click here and here to see her pawlaying!

Seven likes going for 1-1.5 mile walk every morning and evening. She is making great progress with her leash manners. Woofs, she car rides too.

Paws, Seven warms up to women fairly quickly. Men need to give her a few minutes to warm up letting her say "hello" when she's ready!

Seven would do best with an experienced dog human who understands she needs time to adjust to a new home and pay attention to her cues. She may resource guard when she is not yet comfortable in her new setting!

Seven is house- and crate-trained. She even enjoys spending time in her crate often choosing to nap in her crate during the afternoon. She is content to sleep through the night in her crate but would prefer being in bed with you. Paws, in the morning she loves greeting her human with kisses and lovin's!

(C) 2022, from The Dog's Paw!
(C) 2022, from The Dog's Paw!

Woof! MEOWS! Barks! Happy 26th Anniversary Mom and Dad! Barkingly, it's hard for us to believe that you two pawsome humans have been married for twenty-six years! Mom looks way too young to be married to a guy as old as Dad is!

Barkingly, and meowinglys too, it's been pawsome to be their furry babies all these years too. They have done pawsome grand in taking care of us with food, water, toys, and those dreaded, but needed, Veterinarian visits! Barks!

We have watched Mom and Dad over the years that we've been their furry babies. They have loved each other through rough times, good times, and all over times that humans can go through. While nothing is pawfect, their love of God and each other, keeps them together.

Happy 26th Anniversary Mom and Dad! We love you!

A Visit to Weezy's Doggie Delights!

(C) 2022, Weezy's Doggie Delights

Barks! Some legal stuff- we were not paid for this post, given free products, nor is it sponsored. We are enjoying our community.

Woofs, if you missed yesterday's post, please read it here and return to this post to finish the story! Arf??!

WOOFS! After my grooming, instead of heading home the way that I know, we are headed down a country road! It appears that we are out in the middle of nowhere. Paws, just about everywhere we go in our new area to live is out in the middle of nowhere so I have no clue where, paws, we were going. Barkingly, as we go a bit further, this part of this trip looked vaguely familiar as I think Dad and I took this road to go watch trains one day. Woofs.

Arf? Then, we turn down this road to a private driveway, I'm up for adventures but I am really wondering. Barks, it does take a bit to get used to our new area. Where we used to live, in suburbia, there were wide paved roads and concrete sidewalks everywhere. Now, we have gravel roads, paved and unpaved driveways, narrow two-lane paved roads, and some unpaved roads like the one to our house. It's pawsitively pawsome!

Dad goes inside this business for a few minutes. Since I can't see him, I start barking and barking and barking some more. Finally, he comes out with something in his hands!? Not sure, but, I will find out!

Barks! What a pawsome surprise! He stopped to get me a Weezy's Doggie Delight!" WOOFS! WOOFS!

He gives me one to enjoy on our way home! Pawsitively delicious! Barkingly, when we get home I beg for more... it doesn't take long for me to be rewarded with another treat. Woofingly, I guess it pays off being a good girl at the groomer and while traveling there and back! Woofs.

The treats made especially for me were made of wheat flour, pumpkin puree, applesauce, natural peanut butter, and instant oats! I would offer you one but I am not in the mood to share my treats with anyone.  I am not even sharing with Noah! Paws, Weezy is experimenting with treats for cats too.

Paws, if you would like to learn more about "Weezy's Doggie Delights," pawlease contact them at
L.Thompson1555@yahoo.com. She offers various sizes for various size dogs at various pawricing too! Inquire with Weezy for details.

A Visit to the Groomer, Doggy Clipps!

"Abby at Doggy Clipps"
(C) 2022, from The Dog's Paw!

Barks! Some legal stuff- we were not paid for this post, nor is it sponsored. We are exploring our community.

Woofs, ahhh dahlings, so good for you to join me today. I have been living in our new home, in a new area, for a little over a year and a half. I've had the pawleasure of watching my human busy about himself with yard work and updating or repairing our new home. Paws, I've had the pawsome pawleasure of sneaking out of the house a few times to explore our area to my barking delight coming home covered in dirt or mud or pawssibly something else, and debris. Woofs, it is enough to exhaust a girl to no end. barks.

"Abby Getting Groomed!"

So I had to escape. I need a few hours at the beauty salon. Barkinglys, I called Doggy Clipps, a Salon for Pooches, in Culpeper for an appointment. Were they ever dahlings?! And, so kind to talk to on the phone- woof! I bet they never had a dog call for an appointment before!

Barkingly, we were treated pawsomely warmly when we arrived at the shop. We didn't know what to expect as some groomers cater only to show dogs or purebreds. Well, my dears, I am not a show dog or purebred but I am an incredibly pawsomely grand dog that deserves the bestest. And, they treated me as such.

Dahlings, all I had to do was relax and enjoy the moment. They cleaned me all up.  I felt so pawsitively special it was pawnderful, my dears.

Ahhhh! The soap, the shampoo, all the bubbles, it just felt so good- oh, they trimmed my nails, brushed my teeth, and, dahlings, I just felt so clean and fresh, just like a girl should, you know.

A paw full of thanks to my groomer and the staff at Doggy Clipps for cleaning me up, making me all pretty, and making me smell good again.

My human picked me up from my grooming and said "You look ravishing dahling, absolutely ravishing!" Of course, as Doggy Clipps did a pawsome grooming.

Once we left there, Dad said he wanted to make my first groomer visit special. The next thing I knew we were driving on a country road... tomorrow, I will paw another post- and share with you where we went!

My apawlogies - for some odd reason, this post didn't publish yesterday.

Meows! Happy Friday! I hope you and your family are pawpared for the remnants of Hurricane Ian, pawbably a Tropical Storm by the time it gets here. It's supposed to be mostly rain but if you are stuck at home, having a cat will make it a pawsome adventure. Either way, pawlease be safe!

Meowingly, my friend "Cat Lady" from PetConnect Rescue brought by a handsome fella looking for his "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love him too! Pawlease meet Gonzo!

Gonzo is a handsome, affectionate, and happy cat!
(C) 2022, from The Dog's Paw!

Meows, purrs, he greets visitors at the door and is truly a human lover fella!

Purringly, you will find him curled up on his human's lap, or somewhere enjoying a sunny spot, or watching out the window.

Meow, Gonzo does well with mini-humans, other cats, and small dogs. Purr, he hasn't met any big dogs yet but his foster mom believes he he will be fine.

Pawingly, Gonzo enjoys pawlaying with feather toys and balls. He is litter box trained.

Gonzo loves everyone and is excited about finding his "Forever Home!"
