WOOF! WOOF! My friend "Miss Sherry" from Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P) brought by two sweet pets for you to meet this week! They are looking for their "Forever Homes!" with humans to love who will love them too. They do not need to be adopted together. Barks.

Meet Cutie Pie! She was surrendered to the Caroline County shelter when her human passed away. Barks, she was surrendered with a horrific skin condition which requires weekly baths and treatment. She is improving but has a little ways to go! Meows.

Cutie Pie's name really fits her in my barkingly humble opinion! She is a sweetheart too. She's around 2-4-years-old and wants nothing more than to hang out with her human!

She is content to be laying on a couch or recliner nearby and will gladly roll over for a belly rub or two.

Paws, Cutie Pie has been fostered with other dogs and fits in just fine!

Woofs, if you are looking for an adorably cute, loving furry friend and are willing to help her get better, pawlease contact "Miss Sherry" at a3p.advocates@gmail.com.

Meows! Purrs! Pawlease meet Lami!

Paws, Sweet Lami is a laid-back all-around mellow kittie!  She is from Roanoke, Virginia but found her way to the Northern Virginia area.

Meows, Lami is one pawsitively beautiful kitten.  She can be a bit shy initially but is now a confident girl living among a dozen or two kittens.

Meows, Lami is around 2-years-old. Though many kittens her age move around quickly, she hasn't had any interest!

Goofy is looking for his "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love him in a rural or suburban single-family house with a fenced yard!

Paws, when Goofy arrived at Lab Rescue four weeks ago, he had a broken jaw with many fractured teeth barely able to open his mouth due to the pain! Now, he can open his mouth wide!

Goofy loves other dogs but he's not allowed to play hard for now. Barkingly, since hs ie feeling better, he is all puppy and wants to play, run, and play with toys. Barks, though he will get there ... paws, he is pawmitted gently and supawvised interactions until his jaw bone is healed.

Paws, he loves sleeping on a dog bed in an x-pen next to his foster dog brothers! He enjoys snuggling with his humans more than anything! He loves doing that on the couch.

Goofy has a pawsomely great dispawsition! When he is fully recovered, he will be barkingly grand fun!

Woofsters, Goofy is Heartworm Positive. Paws, Heartworm is highly treatable and treatment will be provided, at no cost to the adopter, at one of Lab Rescue's designated vets. Completing Heartworm treatment at the veterinarian designated by the Rescue is a requirement of adoption.  Paws, interested adopters should visit these pages: Lab Rescue - Heartworm and Lab Rescue - Heartworm Protocol to learn the basics of Heartworm treatment.

Barks, Goofy is unknown with cats and approved for mini-humans ages 10 and older.

WOOF! BARKS! Meet my new friend from Operation Paws for Homes, Mama Mia!

Dog Adoption
Photo: Operation Paws for Homes
Creative: from The Dog's Paw!
Barkingly, Mama Mia is an active terrier mix looking for a "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love her too! She is not suitable for an apartment or condo or other urban setting. Pawlease, she says, no cats in her new home - she loves chasing small animals too much!

WOOFs! Mama Mia loves being around her humans! Paws, she plays well with her furry-foster sister and her human foster brothers! She gets super excited to meet new people and dogs. Once she gets to know you, she does well.

She loves playing with her toys, ropes, balls, and especially toys that squeak! If you like tug-of-war, she is the dog for you! Paws!

Mama Mia is house- and crate-trained! She sleeps well her crate but prefers to be with her humans during the day if they are around!

Woof, she is a very smart girl! She found the bells on her foster's door and rings it when she wants to go outside or wants some attention!

Mama Mia is a high-energy girl, barkingly, a long walk or quick jog is the best way to start her day! She is very strong and is working on her leash manners! She does well with a front-clip harness. It's hard for her not to pull when her humans aren't as fast as her and she wants to check out all the exciting smells and critters outside.

Paws and barks, since Mama Mia is so happy and playful, she will do best with a family who doesn't small mini-humans. A human adopter with some dog experience is preferred.

Barks, if you would like to learn more about adopting a dog from Operation Paws for Homes, pawlease visit their Adoption Guide.

If you would like to meet or apply to pawssibly adopt Mama Mia, pawlease complete the Operation Paws for Homes Dog Adoption Application!

Mia loves to be with her humans and wants constant contact with them! Barkingly, she can be very vocal but in a friendly way!

Mia loves running around the yard, going for walks, car rides, and watching humans! She will need some work on her leash skills so she will have a training addendum with her adoption.

Paws, barkingly, give her time to warm up and she will be your bestest friend!

Sally is looking for her home in a rural or suburban single-family house with limited steps. She needs a fenced yard too!

Barking, Sally is a spunky senior girl who loves to play with her squeaky donut in the backyard. She prefers not to share her toys with others. Watch - Sally with her donut!

She would be best as your one-and-only-dog-that-is! Her sweet-self wants all the lovin's she can get from her humans without sharing!

She likes napping at her foster's feet but usually sleeps on a dog bed overnight!

Barkingly, she loves her walks even on the hot summer days! She wiggles and leaps when she sees the leash coming out! When she gets home she heads straight to The Water Bowl! She wants a family who will take her for pawlenty of walks!

WOOFS! Paws, Sally will sit like a good girl for treats and always takes them gently. She's got this really cool move she does when she gets a treat - Sally Does a "Pop A Wheelie."

Sally is good with other dogs! No cats! She is recommended for mini-humans ages 10 and older. Barkingly, while she loves mini-humans, she will do best in a quiet home without lots of noise.

Dog Breeds! Boston Terriers and Boston Terrier Mixes!

Barkingly, it's a great thing that God created dogs in many different sizes so humans who want a smaller dog can adopt the pawsomeness of a small dog and have the blessings of a dog in the family. Paws, the same is true for humans who want larger dogs.

One of my human's human friends has an adorable Boston Terrier as their dog! They love the dog who is the mostest pawfect one for them. Maybe one would be suitable for you? Learn some about them here:

My friends at PetConnect Rescue brought by two handsome dogs for you to meet this week! Meet Norman! He is looking for his "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love him too! Barks!

WOOF! Norman is around 14-weeks-old and pawssibly a Terrier mix!

Barks, this guy's is quite the character! He LOVES attention from his human! Although he is fine with dogs in passing, he would be happiest to absolutely pawsitively be your-one-and-only-dog-that-is!

Norman loves family time but he doesn't like a lot commotion. He will do best in a home with mini-humans ages 12 and older.

Norman loves to snuggle, give kisses, and romp outside.

WOOF! Barkingly, due to his young age, he will need an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue his training.

Barksly, Norman's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. He is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or townhomes without a private fenced yard. He will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old.

Another friend for you to meet is Murphy-

Murphy is a 1-2-year-old Hound/Terrier mix!

Murphy arrived a the shelter with an older fracture that didn't heal properly which resulted in the Veterinarians having to amputate his hind leg. Barks, though he is missing one leg, please still romps and play like any of his 4-legged friends!

Murphy is great with other dogs, loves everyone he's met, and is a happy, friendly all-around kinda fella!

Murphy is house- and crate-trained and eager to find his family to love!

WOOF! WOOF! My friend "Lab Lady" and her volunteers at Lab Rescue has been busy lately taking care of many pawnderful Labrador Retrievers helping them to find "Forever Homes!"  This week, she brought by a handsome fella name Archibald for you to meet!
Black Labrador Retriever Dog Adoption

Creative: from The Dog's Paw!

Archibald, a very happy 8-year-old Black Labrador Retriever, is looking for his "Forever Home!" in a rural or suburban single-family home with a fence!

Barks and paws, Archibald is adapting quite well and learning new skills in his foster home! He has become a STAIR MASTER as he rockets up and down flights!

WOOFs! Archibald is learning the indoor life is the pawsomely good life! He loves Charlie Bear Bacon and Blueberry and Beaverdam cinnamon and honey treats! He will sit for his treat and takes them gently! Barks, he loves to be petted and scratched. WOOFS! He has discovered that cuddling with his blanket on the couch doesn't compare to hitting the streets as a stray. WOOFS!

Barks, to help himself get adopted, Archibald created a Baker's Dozen of reasons to adopt-

1) I am an Olympic caliber sleeper...I sleep quietly through the night on my dog bed
 and goes right back to sleep even if you get up for any reason;

2) My cute, fluffy ears...

3) I go up and down stairs like a champ;

4) I have lived in a home before…not spooked by house sounds (printers, garbage disposal, etc.);

5) I am very comfortable on carpet; tentative on tile, laminate, etc.
(working around this with yoga mats and runners);

6) I am not a swimmer (yet); drinks from the pool but doesn’t put his feet in
or show any desire to swim;

7) I am easy to walk. My foster uses a harness; very interested in other dogs,

8) I don't need a lot of exercise very low maintenance; happy to hang around with us.

9) My foster ran out for some errands and I am fine by himself.

10) I am VERY quiet...rarely do I bark.

11) I know how to “sit” and does it with authority;

12) No cats (BEST squirrel eradicator if you need them out of your yard and plants).

13) Completely housebroken, no accidents at all

WOOFS! Archibald is looking for humans who will continue treating him the bestest pawssible... barks, the way dogs deserve.

Watch Archibald at: Archibald aka Archie!

Pawlease note: Archibald is Heartworm Positive! Heartworm is highly treatable and treatment will be provided, at no cost to the adopter, at one of Lab Rescue's designated vets. Completing Heartworm treatment at the veterinarian designated by the rescue is a requirement of adoption.
