Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption! Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.
My friend "Lab Lady" and all of Lab Rescue's volunteers have been pawsomely busy this week caring for Labrador Retrievers coming into their care over the past few weeks.
"Lab Lady" brought by two friends for you to meet who are a bonded pair of buddies and will need to be adopted together! As "Lab Lady" says, "if one is good, two is definitely better!" Meet Mandy and Shiloh!
These two are looking for a "Forever Home" in a rural or Suburban single-family home with no fence requirement if adequate exercise is provided!
Mandy is a Yellow Labrador Retriever and Shiloh is a Black Labrador Retriever, At 4-years-old, they are looking for a new home after their human suddenly passed away! woof. The pair was originally adopted from Lab Rescue and have been loved over the years.
The two are pawsomely adorable! They love each other, enjoy snuggling and playing together and can be seen grooming each other! WOOF!!! They don't exclude other dogs from their lives as they are good with playmates large and small!
Shiloh and Mandy adore their toys but not nearly as much as they do humans! The dogs are wonderful and love giving the opportunity to be pet and loved.
The siblings are strong on a leash but were walked together by their former human. They would benefit from some leash training to make it easier for themselves and humans.
Mandy and Shiloh enjoy car rides and adventures. They are happy looking out a window watching life go by.
Shiloh and Mandy like to sleep with their human but have been known to curl up in their own dog bed nearby.
The duo takes treats very gently and love munching on ice cubes!
Shiloh and Mandy have not lived with cats. They are approved for mini-humans age 10 and older.

Friday's Friend! Cat Adoption, PetConnect Rescue
Meet Alex and Andy!
![]() |
| "Alex" (C) PetConnect Rescue |
Pawsomely cool Alex was rescued with his brother Andy from a rural shelter. Now, they are loving life in their foster's home! The two were born in April.
These two characters have never met a cat toy they didn't like- Andy is pawticularly fond of wand toys -while they both love rolling balls, toy mice and anything they could pawssibly chase, including each other!
Since these fellas are quite young, they need an adopter who will be home much of the day! The boys want to be adopted together!
The fellas have gentlemanly litterbox manners. Meowingly, they have started their vaccinations.
A note from PetConnect Rescue: The adoption fee for this kitten is $135, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the kitten is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100 spay/neuter deposit is collected to help ensure that the procedure gets done in a timely manner.
Please note that cats adopted through PetConnect Rescue must be indoor only, and may not be declawed (unless already declawed at the time of rescue).
Meowingly, the first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important! Therefore, they will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered and examined annually by your vet.***
If you would like to learn more about cat adoption, please visit the PetConnect Rescue Adoption Guide.
If you would like to apply to adopt Alex and Andy, please complete the PetConnect Rescue Cat Adoption Application.

ThunderWorks® Summer Drive Donation Campaign Benefits Shelters and Rescue Organizations

“Summer storms and fireworks historically land thousands of dogs in the care of shelters and other rescue organizations every summer,” explained ThunderWorks Founder Phil Blizzard. “A ThunderShirt can help dogs, and cats as well, find a sense of calm while in the shelter setting, which helps to position them for adoption.” Over the years, ThunderWorks has donated tens of thousands of ThunderShirts to rescue groups and shelters, and the ThunderWorks Summer Drive Donation campaign provides not only the opportunity to donate, and educate the public about pet fear, anxiety, and stress.
“Fear and anxiety are as harmful to pets in shelters and rescue groups as to pets in our own homes,” said Dr. Marty Becker, founder of Fear Free. “I've seen ThunderShirts help my own pets as well as my patients, and am proud to support this generous campaign to make sure homeless pets can benefit in the same way while they wait for adoption into loving families."
“Of the 77.8 million dogs in the United States, 24 million suffer from regular anxiety issues. We are excited about this Summer Drive campaign and encourage pet lovers to visit Thundershirt - Donate to tell us the name of a shelter or rescue group you support, or tweet us @ThunderShirt, or message ThunderShirt on Facebook,” said Blizzard.“ Our goal is to donate ThunderShirts to at least 100 shelters around the country, during these summer months.”

ThunderShirt's patented design applies a gentle, constant pressure that has a proven calming effect for over 80% of dogs. The sensation to the pet is similar to the swaddling of an infant. Use of the ThunderShirt already helps millions of dogs and cats across the country and is recommended by thousands of veterinarians and professional trainers.
To help select the shelters and rescue organizations for donations of ThunderShirts, please visit Facebook - Thundershirt and send a message or tweet a selection to @thundershirt on Twitter, or visit www.thundershirt.com/donate. The campaign runs from July 1 through August 15, 2017.

Happy July 4th, Independence Day!
![]() |

Happy 4th of July! Though I do not like all the noises and light flashes and chaos associated with this holiday, I am barkingly thankful to all the humans who made this day possible. From the early founding fathers to those who are serving in our US Armed Forces including those in-between.
As you celebrate today, keep an eye on your dog taking care to keep him from being scared of the loud noises and flashes of the fireworks and running away. My humans have planned a party for me with treats, fresh water, my favorite toys and games of indoor fetch.
When you see a Service member, take a second to say "Thank You!"
Happy 4th of July!
Thank you US ARMED FORCES for all you do!
