Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, PetConnect Rescue

When my human goes to an adoption event to photograph dogs which helps to get them "Forever Homes," he will come home smelling like 5 or 6 "other" dogs.  Naturally, my questions are "why have you been with another dog?" BARKS! He says, "I'm just trying to help them get "Forever Homes" like someone did for you many years ago.  WOOF!!  So, true.  He continues "trust me, there are many incredibly adorable dogs at these events which make me want to adopt them all, but I am happy with you and come home to pet you!"  WOOF!!!  I am happy Dad helps dogs and cats find "Forever Homes" through photography and writing.  PetConnect Rescue inspired my human to get into his work.

I think of those moments when my friends at PetConnect Rescue introduce me to a pawsome dog like Elijah who needs a "Forever Home!" Meet Elijah!

Isn't this pups a cool-lookin' guy!?  WOOFs!  Meet Elijah!

Elijah is a sweet, 4 1/2-month-old Labrador/Pointer mix pup.  He is a curious, playful and affectionate fella who he is great with humans, other dogs and still young enough to learn about cats!  WOOF!!  He has a happy-go-lucky personality which will make him a pawsomely beloved family member.

Since Elijah is a puppy, a true youngster, he will require an adopter who will be home with him a good part of the day.  No exceptions!  WOOF!!

Barkingly, a note from PetConnect Rescue, Elijah's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age.  Barkingly, he is not suited for apartment, condo living or townhouses without a private fenced yard.  WOOF!  He will not be able to go to public places where he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart, PetCo and dog parks until he is 16 weeks old!

WOOF, Elijah's adoption fee is $350, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. The fee DOES NOT INCLUDE neutering if he has not already neutered. If Elijah hasn't been neutered, the adopter will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered.

Barkingly, the first step PetConnect Rescue does in approving adoption applicants is to complete a Veterinarian check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important so they will be speaking with the Veterinarian(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.
