Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, The Humane Society of Northern Virginia

Dog Adoption

Happy Friday! BARKS!! I am so happy to have heard from my friend Miss Sherry from the Humane Society of Northern Virginia this week. Dad used to photograph dogs and cats for her to help get them adopted but then, we moved out of the area to a much quieter pawlace. Woofs, and she's been busy with the Humane Society work. She and her volunteers do excellent work caring for dogs and cats needing "Forever Homes!"

Dog Adoption
This week, Miss Sherry, brought by a handsome fella named Rory who is looking for his "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love him too!

Barks, Rory is a fun, all-around happy, free-spirit kinda guy! He loves to pawlay with other dogs. He'll run, play tug-of-war, and use the smaller dogs as hurdles! He's one lovable character!

Rory has one great nose and is almost always sniffing the air taking in the pawsome scents in the area. Woofs!

Barkingly, Rory would make a great hiking or jogging pawtner!

Paws, he who loves laying near his human getting belly rubs. Barks, and tasty treats, I must say!

Rory would love to have his own backyard to run and pawlay, especially if it included another furry furiend.

He is a good boy who need a companion/family who will invest in training and be committed to their new family member!

Rory is crate- and house-trained. He is neutered, current with preventatives, and mico-chipped. He is negative for heartworm, Lyme, and other tick-borne diseases.

MEOWS! Happy Friday, my friends! Paws, to my friend "Miss Sherry" at the Humane Society of Northern Virginia for sharing with us a friend, Dorothy, who needs a "Forever Home!" It was so pawsome to hear from her! Dorothy is looking for her "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love her too!

Dorothy was doing her pawsome best surviving in a trainer park. She was only a 6-pound kitten who was pregnant but it was unknown until she was spayed. She had a rough time with the surgery but came out of it to nurse another kitten that came into the foster's care.

Purringly, she isn't the most outgoing cat in the rescue. She is very sweet and enjoys being pet!

Dorothy enjoys her little hideaways but she will be happiest when she finds her own home and a cat tree in a sunny window. She is looking forward to enjoying a happy, comfortable life.

Sweet Dorothy, purrs, is ready to go home with a human who understands some pets may take a wee bit longer to open up to their humans. Paws, she is so sweet that anyone will see that if they give her a chance.

Purrings, do you pawsitively love cats but are unable to adopt? Paws, how about supporting Dorothy financially? Donations will assist with her care. Woofs! Happy Friday! My friend "Miss Sherry" from the Humane Society of Northern Virginia brought a sweet, loving, and happy senior girl named Maddie for you to meet and consider adopting.

Maddie is tipping the scales a little too much so she needs a good diet and exercise routine to help her regain her dahling-girlish figure! Recent blood work shows within the normal ranges but she does have a bit of a skin rash. A new diet and medication should clear it up fairly quickly. These are minor issues so it shouldn't prevent her from finding a special humans to love!

(C) 2022, from The Dog's Paw!

WOOFS! The impawfection in pets is often what makes them so pawfect in their human's eyes!

Barkingly, Maddie is 100% ready for adoption. She is house-trained and good with other dogs!

Maddie is looking for that special human(s) to welcome her to their home!

To learn about adopting a dog from the Humane Society of Northern Virginia, to meet Maddie, and pawssibly adopt her, pawlease visit the Humane Society of Northern Virginia, call (571) 408-0381, or email a3p.petlovers@gmail.com.

Snickers is looking for his "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love him too!

Snickers was taken in and evaluated which proved he had a significant injury to his left rear leg. HISS! His leg was fractured and splintered in three places. He needed surgery to repair it versus amputating his leg. The surgery was successful with Snickers recovering. What a stoic fella this guy is!

Snickers in super lovely, very cute with cute a bit of handsomeness too!

He is neutered, current with age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and microchipped.

Missy gets around pretty well! She is great with other dogs and loves to eat! She typically hangs out on the headrest of a recliner! She pawsitively loves being on her human's lap!

(C) 2021, from The Dog's Paw!

Woofingly, Missy isn't much of a fan of her crate! She does well in it but she'll cry for a minute or two before she settles in for her nap.

Missy has everything but her own humans! Barks!

MEOWS! Happy Friday my friends! My friend "Miss Sherry" from Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P) stopped by again this week with an adorably sweet, almost as sweet as me, cat for you to consider adopting. She is looking for her "Forever Home!" with humans to love who will love her too! MEOWS!

(C) 2021, from The Dog's Paw!
Katherine has gone through some rough times but it's all history now. She is getting the care, attention, and extra lovin's from the kind volunteers at A3P! She is adapting to her new life quite well! She still has some issues with her gait in her leg. Though there is nothing that can be done for it, she is enjoying her new life.
This grateful and loving regal beauty is around 13-years-old. Katherine is looking for a "Forever Home!" with a warm, comfortable bed, a consistently healthy diet, and the loving touch of her new humans!

Paws, like a lot of humans, Katherine will need joint and pain medication but that's a small price for the sweet lovin's you get in return!

MEOWS! If you would like to meet Katherine, sponsor her expenses, pawssibly adopt her, pawlease contact Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P) or a3p.petlovers@gmail.com.

BARKS! Noel is a sweet but apprehensive girl. She is around 1-year-old, good with other dogs and pawssibly with cats. She is very happy, loving and barkingly happy to lay on her human's lap when she's not busy playing with the other pups in the rescue.

Noel is headed to get her preventatives, vaccinations, and any medical care she needs so she will be ready to go home with you! WOOFS!

WOOF! WOOF! My friend "Miss Sherry" from Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P) brought by two sweet pets for you to meet this week! They are looking for their "Forever Homes!" with humans to love who will love them too. They do not need to be adopted together. Barks.

Meet Cutie Pie! She was surrendered to the Caroline County shelter when her human passed away. Barks, she was surrendered with a horrific skin condition which requires weekly baths and treatment. She is improving but has a little ways to go! Meows.

Cutie Pie's name really fits her in my barkingly humble opinion! She is a sweetheart too. She's around 2-4-years-old and wants nothing more than to hang out with her human!

She is content to be laying on a couch or recliner nearby and will gladly roll over for a belly rub or two.

Paws, Cutie Pie has been fostered with other dogs and fits in just fine!

Woofs, if you are looking for an adorably cute, loving furry friend and are willing to help her get better, pawlease contact "Miss Sherry" at a3p.advocates@gmail.com.
