Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, Homeless Animals Rescue Team

I have had a pawsomely busy week this week meeting different dogs and cats who need "Forever Homes!"  My friend from the Homeless Rescue Team brought by 3 dogs for you to meet this week.

Meet Blitzun!

"Blitzun!"
(C) Homeless Animals Rescue Team
A 9-month-old, male, Lab Mix who is friendly with other dogs and possibly with cats. He prefers older mini-humans though!

Blitzun tends to look at his human for direction.  He is a joy to be around and really just makes a human feel good!  Like I do my human!  WOOF!!!

Blitzun loves to be cuddled and will roll on his back for pawsome belly scratches!

If you have questions about Blitzun, please contact Dick.

Another friend for you to meet is Devaki- an 8-year-old senior Lab Mix who is dog, cat and mini-human friendly!
"Devaki!"
(C) Homeless Animals Rescue Team

Devaki is a totally cool fella who is calm, quiet, and gentle.  BARK! He loves attention especially in the form of ear scratches!  He loves life and enjoys spending times with his humans!

Devaki has a good clean bill of health!  The vet's comment was, "What a sweet, gentle, calm dog."

Devaki will be a pawfect fit for a family who is willing to give him love and a nice bed to sleep in (plus a nice walk).

If you have questions about this Devaki, please contact Dick!

"Howard A!"
(C) Homeless Animals Rescue Team
This is Howard A.!  He is a 6-year-old Beagle mix who is friendly with dogs and mini-humans.  He has no known history with cats!

He is a cool fella who craves attention and tries to steal the hearts of humans everywhere!!  He is very friendly and playful too.

BARKS!  Howard seems to be one of those younger Beagle who is let loose at the end of hunting season because he can no longer "earn his keep." Barkingly, Howard doesn't realize that supposedly "diminished value" and just wants to love on his humans.

If you have questions about this Devaki, please contact Dick!

Friday's Friend! Cat Adoption, PetConnect Rescue

"Flower"
(C) PetConnect Rescue
MEOW! I just love my visits with "Cat Lady!" She and I go back several years to when I started writing to help other dogs and cats find "Forever Homes."  She brought by a cool, "Tuxedo" kitty named "Flower" for you to meet.

Flower is a super affectionate, sweet sweet kitty around 1-years-old.  She is a great lap warmer and a meowster of a desk companion.  An awesome kneader/maker of biscuits, she loves to follow her human around the house rubbing against your legs and laying on them at night!

A really pawsome thing about Flower is that she "merps" and "chirps" instead of meowing!

Flower's favorite toys are ribbons, feathers and catnip bananas! She gets along fine with other kitties and respects personal feline space!

Flower has pawsome litterbox manners.

***A note from my friends at PetConnect Rescue: Cats adopted through PetConnect Rescue must be indoor only, and may not be declawed (unless already declawed at the time of rescue).

Meowingly, please note the first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to PetConnect Rescue so they will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered and examined annually by your vet.***

Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, PetConnect Rescue

"Lola!"
(C) PetConnect Rescue
Is this a beautiful face or what?  I think she's just adorable!  Lola is one cute puppy!

Lola is a happy and playful 3-month-old Shepherd mix.  She is playful, curious and super sweet!

After settling into her foster home, Lola is learning all paws of new skills like crate and house training!  She quickly mastered the "sit" command and climbing the stairs. BARKS! WOOF! arf.  She is still learning how to go back down.  woof.

Lola is a smart girl who would love to do Puppy Kindergarten Class with her humans.

Lola loves to play with other dogs running around and exploring the yard. Unless, of course, it is too cold for this Southern Belle!

If you are looking for a happy-go-lucky. sweetheart-of-a-pup, then Lola could be your girl!

Since she's so young, she'll require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue her training - no exceptions!

BARKS! Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment, Condo living, or Townhomes without a private fenced yard.  She will not be able to go to public places where she could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until she is 16 weeks old.

If you would like to learn more about dog adoption, please visit PetConnect Adoption Guide.

If you would like to adopt Lola, please complete the PetConnect Rescue Adoption Application. You may email: info@petconnectrescue.org or call 1-877-838-9171.  Once the application is submitted, one of their adoption coordinators will contact you.

Friday's Friend! Dog Adoption, Operation Paws for Homes

"Korra"
(C) Operation Paws for Homes
My friend "Miss Ashley" from Operation Paws for Homes brought by a true sweetheart of a girl named "Korra!" She is looking for humans to love and a "Forever Home!" She is a gentle girl looking for humans to cuddle with!

Korra, an Australian Shepherd, is learning to love the pawsomeness of being an indoor dog and getting used to spending time in a crate when needed. She is house trained too.  She hasn't met any cats or mini-humans yet but has done well with other dogs.

A note from Operation Paws for Homes:  Korra tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving at the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. Operation Paws for Homes will treat the dog and provide two weeks’ recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from Operation Paws for Home’s Heartworm Coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: The Heartworm Society, Pet Owner Resources, Heartworm-Basics.
