Meows! I have pawsome humans. I am so blessed. They are truly and really blessed to have ME! ... the mostest-pawsomest-handsomest cat ever! Even the goofy guy who thinks he can sing, but really cannot, is a pawsome guy! Purrs, so I let them hug me... almost whenever they want to ... unless the goofy guy starts to sing them all bets are off as I race to the basement to hide from the horrid noise... yes, the politest way I can describe it.

Purrs, today is National Hug Your Cat Day! Purrs, not that any human really needs a special day to hug your cat but today is the day to REMIND humans everywhere to do just that!

Most cats do not like to be cuddled or hugged. It's just our nature. Paws, sometimes we allow our humans to give us attention when we are ready to put up with them. Which for some of us, it never happens, while others like attention all time. For me, I love attention and an occasional hug from Dad but always from Mom! Meows.

Paws, to hug your cat, you really need to know your cat. Some cats, will NOT allow you to hug them and will scratch you all over if you attempt. Meows, so be aware of that!

Paws, even if your cat doesn't want to be hugged, you can celebrate National Hug Your Cat Day! Meows? Purrs, take the time to pay extra attention to your cat doing what it likes best! Paws, you can bake or make some homemade treats, or just enjoy some extra snuggling time with your kitty.

P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-U-U-U-U-U-U-U-U-U-R-R-R-R-R-R-R! Meows, did you know some studies have shown that hugging, petting, and loving an animal can lower a human's blood pressure and stress!
