"bark. woof. s-h-h-h-h-h Samson. do you hear it?"

"purr. meow?! what Noah? why am i whispering? meow."

"it is a quiet time. a hush. dad calls it a holy quiet. it happens every Christmas Eve."

"purrs... yes.. i hear it ...i'm scared Noah...what's going on? hiss. hiss. hiss.

"woof. no need to be scared Samson.. nothing to be afraid of .. but you can gather close to me ... if you want to......

dad says that every Christmas Eve when the sun begins to settle... a holy quiet seems to settle over the land.. all the noises of every day seem to quiet.. the traffic noises.. those heard from the interstate and highway.... even those noises heard from the trains and locomotives going through either end of town... all seem to stop... you can go outside and sit and feel the quiet...

at first, dad thought it was just something happening where he was living, but then, he happened to be in other places and he noticed it when he moved to a new home... then again later in life when he moved again... "

"purr...why does this happen, Noah?"

"barks. a little more than 2,000 years ago, a baby was born in the little town of Bethlehem. it was the baby Jesus... God's One and Only Son. He was born to live among men for 33 years and die on a cross for the sins of man!

At Christmas, we celebrate His Birth with decorations, pawties, and gifts to family and friends."

"meows. oh wow, now when i hear the silence of the night on Christmas Eve, i will think of this you have shared with me.... "

"woof, very cool Samson... and Dad likes to look for a bright star in the east on Christmas Eve which shone brightly on Jesus's Birth on that first Christmas Day!"

"Meowy Christmas Noah and dear readers!"

"Woof, Merry Christmas Samson and dear readers!"
