He has had a bit of a scary time lately- can you image being lost, alone, scared and roaming the streets of Washington D.C., or any huge city, trying to find where your family went? Or, trying to find your next meal or a place to sleep- that's what happened to Doodlebug. I was a stray in the backhills, I can't image being lost in the city. WOOF!!!
Paws to meet Doodlebug!

Pawsingly, kennel life isn't what they had in mind for his future, so they are helping Doodlebug find a "Forever Home" with a loving human!
Doodlebug is a medium-energy dog looking for a dog- and kid- free home to relax and enjoy life.

A member of the Washington Humane Society's "P.A.C.K. (People and Animal Cardio Klub)", he goes on jogging and hiking outings with volunteers. WOOF!!! Barkingly pawsome for him and the humans!
One of the volunteers at the Washington Humane Society told me “Doodlebug is one of the easier dogs to handle on a leash, he’s a good running buddy (he can go for miles) and is also a happy hiker. He’s curious about squirrels and birds, but doesn’t have a high prey drive, so he just watches them live their life. After he’s gotten some energy out from a run or walk, he’s also a cute cuddler. Then he wants some more exercise so he’ll let you know when it’s time to get up and go. This is great for someone who is looking for a coach or cheerleader who’ll encourage them to keep moving!”
Doodlebug is part of the Hidden Gem program where he gets personal training with Washington Humane Society's staff to make sure he’s ready to quickly settle into his new home.
Barkingly pawsome is the waiving of the adoption fee for a long-term resident though the standard adoption procedures apply.
