WOOF!!!! BARKS!! MEOWS!!! HISS!!!! We cannot allow this to happen! BARK!! BARK!! Paws, I have relatives who served in the US Armed Forces, I bark this to you!

Recently, I heard a news story on TV about how some soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery may not have Christmas wreaths placed on their graves this year by Wreaths Across America due to lack of funds to cover the costs of creating and transporting the wreaths to the cemetery. WOOF!!! BARKS!!! arf.

Barks! So what is this all about? The Wreath Across America’s mission is to “Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve and their families, and Teach the future generations about the sacrifices made to preserve our freedoms.” It is carried out every December with wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. WOOF!!

Barkingly pawsome, Wreaths Across America does not “decorate” headstones with the live wreaths. All veterans and active military members are honored by placing live wreaths on the headstones of veterans. Volunteers placing wreaths on headstones are encouraged to speak the name of the veteran. Fresh evergreens are a symbol used for centuries to recognize honor, and a living tribute renewed annually. Wreaths Across America wants people to see the tradition as a living memorial to veterans and their families.

We are not here to “decorate graves."
We're here to remember not their deaths, but their lives.

—states, Karen Worcester, Executive Director of Wreaths Across America

National Wreaths Across America Day and other events are made possible by thousands of volunteers who organize local ceremonies, raise funds to sponsor wreaths and participate in the events. No government funding is received. Barkingly, the founder of Wreaths Across America, Morrill Worcester of Worcester Wreath Co., continues to be a major donor of wreaths each year, but the majority of the cost for the program is paid for by individual wreath sponsors, corporate donors and volunteer truck drivers and companies.

WOOF!! BARKS!! Paws, we cannot allow this to happen at this festive time of year. It doesn’t cost that much money to buy a wreath to show your support and love to our Veterans. For $15, you can purchase a wreath. If you know someone you’d like to honor by placing a wreath, you can share the information with your order. Interested in doing more? You can buy as many wreaths as you’d like and you can volunteer in various capacities to serve at the event.

To purchase a wreath, please visit Wreaths Across America Donate!
