WOOF!!!!!  This is such a great photo of the dog, "Dakota" introduced to me by "Lab Lady" from Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc., that I wanted you to see it first!!

I hope you have had a great Christmas and a happy New Year.

What better way to start a new year than to consider adopting, or better yet, to adopt a dog to be your pawpanion!   My human LOVES having me around all the time to do stuff with and make sure he does stuff right!  BARK!!

Meet Dakota! A 7 year old chocolate neutered male lab who weighs 80 pounds. Now, he is used to country living, and has very limited exposure to city noises, traffic, and groups of people. Until Lab Rescue learns more about his needs, placements are limited to single family suburban or rural homes. If he can go to a city home, it will be updated on their website.

Dakota has very affectionately become known as bear to his foster family!!! WOOF!!!!  With a great thick coat, solid head, and large paws he is reminiscent of a grizzly!!  Barkingly pawsome, this buddy is all teddy bear!  Find the right spot on his neck and he will lean in for a good rub and gaze into your eyes with the most grateful look, sometimes with his tongue lolling out.

Dakota enjoys retrieving and exploring the yard. He likes to fetch and does well on a walk.  Pawingly, he would do well on an easy-walk harness and some training.

His foster sister isn't much of a playmate but they get along just fine! He gets along with the cat, who has given him a couple swats just to make sure Dakota remembers who's boss.

Dakota is looking for a new family that will give him the love and attention he deserves! He previously lived indoors for several years but has been an outdoor dog for the last several years and deserves a fresh start! He hasn't had any formal obedience training and will go with a training addendum.

He is good with children but has had little interaction with them, so he's approved for kids 10 and up.

Dakota is current on vaccines and ready for his "Forever Home!"
