Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Operation Paws for Homes

WOOF!!!! What a crazy week!  Most of this week has been bad weather.  Ice, freezing rain, rain and snow with really cold temperatures.  Not my human's type of weather.  I don't mind it for a bit but without him, it's not as much fun.  Can't wait for warmer temps when my human and I can have more fun outside!

My friends from Operation Paws for Homes made it by to see me this week with a sweet girl for you to meet-  Patty!

Do you need the absolute sweetest dog in your life?  BARK!  Since I'm not available and am very happy with my humans, then you need Patty!  WOOF!

A 2-3 year old, 55 lbs., Retriever/Shepherd Mix, Patty is friendly with dogs, cats and people.  At her prior home, she seemed a little afraid of the teenagers, so Operation Paws for Homes recommends she goes to a home with full grown adults.  Since her foster parents are in their early 30s, and she loves snuggling with them, her new people should be 25 or older!  BARK!

Patty is a sweet, calm, quiet girl!  She loves to be with her human and have you pet her ears and talk softly to her.  When you enter the room, she closes her eyes, smiles and thumps her tail to show how happy she is!  WOOF!!

Loud noises, sudden movements and things of that nature aren't things Patty likes, she prefers a relaxed environment so she would do best in a home without children, teenagers, or lots of commotion.

Patty's favorite thing in the whole world is being outside going on long walks with her human! She is so happy and alive when outside! Her tail is up, shes sniffing everything, trotting around - but not pulling on the leash. She checks back with her human and wags her tail ecstatically to let you know how much she loves being outside with you. WOOF!!!!  Barkingly fair to say Patty will need frequent walks and time outside everyday!

Patty is curious and affectionate with other dogs. She has bonded closely with a lazy kitty, and shows interest in her two foster brother dogs, though she does not "play" with other dogs or toys. She doesn't bark very much - only in excitement when you ask her if she wants to go outside, doesn't lick, and is very well-mannered.

The ideal human for Patty would probably work from home or be retired because she bonds so closely. She will sit beside you as you work or watch TV and wiggle her nose under your hand as if to say, "It does not appear you are using this, so please pet me!" Sounds like what I do to my humans! WOOF!

She is up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and altered.  She is waiting for her special human, is that you!  WOOF!?
