Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Operation Paws for Homes

WOOF!! Happy Friday!  Hope you've had a barkingly pawsome week!  My friends at Operation Paws for Homes have been busy this week caring for the many dogs they've rescued!   They brought one of them by this week for you to meet!

Meet Bear Nowzad!

This guy traveled quite a distance to meet you and find himself a human and a "Forever Home!"  WOOF!!!!

It's a pleasure to meet Bear Nowzad who is from Afghanistan through our partner adoption agency Nowzad. He was found as a stray and raised by a westerner working/serving in Afghanistan.

Bear is a black male dog, a mix of likely Collie/Saluki and a few others. His coat is fairly long and thick. He is shy at first, but loves humans.

Bear will take some time to settle in as he is experiencing a lot of "firsts" here in the US.

Humans interested in adopting Bear will need to understand that patience, love, and time will be required for him to adjust.  He has come a long way but will need his human to teach him about his new world in the U.S.

Bear's mother had been poisoned and the litter at that stage still had their eyes closed so were only a few days old. He was hand-reared along with the rest of the litter and they all grew to be healthy dogs.

He arrived on April 15 via air transport with stops in Amsterdam and Dubai. Needless to say - this boy is a world traveler!

Operation Paws for Homes is looking for a patient human or home that understands Bear will need your help in experiencing more "firsts" in the US. A training program will be required for anyone interested in adopting one of the Nowzad dog. It's important for adopters to learn from my friends at Operation Paws for Homes and a training professional that transitioning for these pups will take time and patience.

Bear is a handsome boy and deserves an incredible future! We are so proud to work with Nozwad dogs and help these dogs get a future with wonderful homes here in the US.

He is neutered and has no health issues. He is fully vaccinated.
