Year-End Giving, Dog Adoption and Cat Adoption

Dog Adoption
"Looking for my 'Forever Home'"
(C) Allen Pearson
Do you love dogs and cats? Or maybe just dogs or just cats? Barks! Either way, we are pawsome guys and gals who live to make the humans lives so much better by having us around. Yep. It's the truth.  My humans know and will tell you, that I am the mostest pawsomeness guy to have around the house. I keep them active, entertained, keep the property secure, and just overall rule the roost as the saying goes.

I know many stories like mine which are made possible because of the work done by dog and cat rescues. These organizations do so much to help animals find "Forever Homes" by transporting them to places where they will find humans to love and love them, providing Veterinarian Care before adoptions, toys, food, treats, water and housing, and the like to help the animals. In some cases, there are dogs and cats which need medical assistance to become all they can be so they will do their best to help the animal raising funds to cover those expenses.

Cat Adoption
"Abandoned Cat in Loudoun County"
(C) Allen Pearson
My friend at the Humane Society of Loudoun County shares about a project they encounter, "Every day, one of our volunteers treks out to this essentially 'abandoned' site with 17 cats, to make sure they are fed and watered even during nasty weather. They are so happy to see the chuck wagon coming! Ears are perked up, some of them meow a greeting, and fluffy tails wave in the air. The best part is when they line up to escort their HSLC volunteer to the feeder. Most importantly, these outdoor kitties need outdoor homes! Any house with a little bit of acreage, farms, farmettes, a Creighton Farms Mansion...we aren't fussy and these guys need a home! They do have to go in pairs or preferably 3's. we've found that they are more likely to stay put at the new place if they have company..." BARKS!! er, maybe I should say, "MEOW!"

Meowingly bark, maybe you love animals but are not able to adopt right now for many reasons. Most animal rescues can use your help by volunteering to help with the animals care.  Barks, these groups can use financial assistance to cover expenses.  Since these organizations are mostly volunteer-run, financial donations are a pawssible way for humans to help them rescue animals needing homes and assist with their care. WOOF!!

Over the past several years, "from The Dog's Paw" has photographed and written in support of helping dogs and cats find their "Forever Homes!" Great photographs and articles are one way to help dogs and cats. The following organizations will be pawsomely happy to help you find a place to volunteer and, or as the case may be, accept financial donations to put them to great use! BARK! and, a good MEOW!

Please note financial donations must be completed by end of day, Sunday, December 31, 2017.  Mailed donations must be postmarked by December 31, 2017.
