Friday's Friend: Dog Adoption, Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc.

 Happy 4th of July!! If you own a dog already, you might want to read my post from yesterday, about dog safety for today.  More dogs go missing and end up at shelters during July 4-5 than any other time.  I'd have to add the 3rd of July to that too, because I often hear firecrackers leading up to this noisy day!  WOOF!!

"The Lab Lady" from Lab Rescue of LR.C.P, Inc. visited me this week with a friend named "Martini"- what a cool name!! Named after a Baroque composer that my human's heard on the radio!! WOOF!!!  Or, maybe something else?  Either way, he's one cool dog!!

Martini, a 2 years old, black neutered male, is a lovable, fun-loving, awkard goofy character!

Though he loves to play ball and fetch, he doesn't like to give the ball back!  Martini enjoys swimming in a tiny pool, with stuffed toys, rope toys, and nylabones.

Enjoy sleeping in?  He's more than happy join you!  Martini loves to stretch out and hog the entire sofa!!

Martini is working on his commands.  He knows the basics but needs some encouragement to follow directions.

Walking on a leash, Martini does well, until the moment of seeing a bird or squirrel, he will go toward it until corrected!

He would probably do well with cats once he has some introduction, training and supervision.  He has met his fosters resident cats and did well.  One of the cats rubbed against him and he stayed still.  Other than that, we don't know his cat prior experience.

Mostly Martini, LOVES being loved on and all the attention he can get from his humans. He is good for children 10 years or older!  And he is good with other dogs!

Martini tested positive for heartworms, Lyme, and Ehrlichia. He's on Doxycicline for a month.
