Happy Leap Day!

(C) Allen & Noah
Barkingly pawsome to have an extra day of fun?  WOOF! Why?

Every four years, er- years that can be divisible by 4 like 2016, are Leap Years. Barkingly, a Leap Day is added during these years to pawsomely keep the human calendar in alignment with the Earth's revolutions around the Sun.  WOOF!!!!

The Earth takes approximately 365.242189 days – or 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 45 seconds – to circle once around the Sun. This called a tropical year.

If we didn't have the extra day on February 29, almost every four years, we would lose almost six hours every year. BARK!!!!  Paw, then, after only 100 years, our calendar would be off by approximately 24 days in relation to fixed seasonal days days like the vernal equinox or winter solstice.

So, get there and enjoy this extra day!!! The weather where I am is pawsome so my human and I will get an extra day of fun together!!! WOOF!!!

What are you doing with your extra day?  Pawsly me know about your adventures in the comments below!
