A visit with "The Lab Lady" at Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P., Inc. has introduced me to a character and gentleman of a dog, named Shaw.

An equal opportunity dog, Shaw shares his love between the humans in the home.   A calm dog while inside the house, he will let you know when it's time to go out by staring at the door!

In his foster home, he hasn't needed to be crated when they go to work or out for an evening- at night, he's a great boy sleeping through the night.

Shaw's a happy guy, and loves hanging outside. He is very friendly to the humans he meets and when he sees someone he doesn't know, he goes and introduces himself with a polite "hello!"
I'm not too sure about his cat experience, he gets a little too excited around them but is good with other dogs and children ages 10 and up.

Shaw enjoys lounging in the yard, chasing squirrels, loves treats and playing with his Kong toy.  He hasn’t shown much interest in retrieving- when you toss something, he will go over, look at it and back at you as if to say “What am I supposed to do with that?”  WOOF!!!!

Shaw has Hypothyroidism which is easily controlled with relatively low cost medicine. The treatment will generally resolve most clinical symptoms after a few months.

Shaw's heartworm rest period is up on June 14th!!  WOOF!!!  He'll be introduced to exercise slowly.

Being the country dog he is, Shaw would probably not do well in an apartment/condo or big city environment. He would do best with calm, more mature dogs.

Shaw is a 4 year old
yellow neutered male currently weighing around 61 lbs. but could use to add a few pounds- he is up to date on vaccines.

See his video on YouTube at: Shaw on YouTube!
