Saturday's Success Story

Today, I am writing about a "Success Story" of a Human whose success story has been so successful that he's succeeded in successfully assisting the rescue of countless dogs.  Try saying that much less writing it.  And, who knows how many humans he's helped by helping the dogs.

"Big Bruno and Bailey"
What can you say about a volunteer that will answer the call to pick up an animal at transport and deliver them to their new foster home…or will bring dogs to and attend adoption events…a volunteer that helps promote his passion on local TV stations talking about volunteering and adoption…who goes to animal hospitals to help with new puppies and take mom out for a stroll…and takes videos and pictures of his “favorite” fosters to show potential families what they’d be missing if this dog wasn’t theirs.

"The Big!!"
You would say that must be “Big Bruno” and we at PetConnect are very happy to have him as a volunteer.

Bruce Cohen manages to do all this plus walk the dogs at the Montgomery County Humane Society (where he was volunteer of the month, March 2011) five days a week and put together a blanket and toy drive to help those shelter dogs be a bit more comfortable under terrible conditions.. All these activities fit into his life along with a full time Government job.

When PRILOSEC ran a contest looking for the Heroes of Community Service and Volunteerism, Bruce entered and won! That grant helped him pay for the gas to fund his transport and rescue SUV, although we are pretty sure he spends over and above that in order to help dogs find their forever home.

Bruce aka “Big Bruno” is an important part of PetConnect Rescue and to the hundreds of dogs he has saved.

And, I am truly thankful for all the volunteers who do work like Big Bruno.  If it weren't for humans like him, doing the work they do, I wouldn't be here to write this blog story and thank him for all he does.  And, I wouldn't be here to brings tons of joy and happiness and smiles to my two humans- probably what happens with the dogs he rescues and they go to their "Forever Homes".
