"SPRING 2 ACTION" Alexandria, Virginia's Giving Day and Operation Paws for Homes is participating!!! A 24 hour online giving event which provides a simple way for donors to locate nonprofits to support!
My human and I love supporting dog and cat rescue! Without them, there would be way too many animals without homes or humans to love them. WOOF!! Barkingly, there would be less humans without a dog or cat to love them and make their lives so much better.
My friends at Operation Paws for Homes rescue dogs of all ages and breeds, including mixed guys like me, from shelters in the North and South Carolina areas, reducing the number of dogs being euthanized. WOOF!!!
These volunteers are great - as they do all the work! From transporting the dogs from high kill shelters to fostering to assisting adopters- all because they LOVE dogs! Though the volunteers work for free, there are some expenses involved in caring for the dogs rescued, Food. Medication. Surgeries. Food. Toys. Treats. Medical Supplies. Crates. Food. Transportation Expense. Supplies for Puppies. Food. Blankets. and, er, well, FOOD!
Operation Paws for Homes doesn't have a physical location or a shelter so it relies on fosters to care for dogs as they wait for adoption.
I am a rescued dog. My human adopted me in 2009. My humans are all so very grateful that a volunteer dog rescuer took a look at me, determined I would make a great pet for someone and set the paws rolling to get me a "Forever Home,"
Operation Paws for Homes has many happy stories about dogs adopting humans or humans adopting dogs where the bond has made an incredible difference in lives.
