A Baby Shower? Animal Welfare League of Alexandria

My buddy Patrick sends me these announcements and news releases about all these events going on at his end of the universe. I enjoy supporting his organization by writing a blog post, and hopefully one day my human and I can go to one of them. But, a baby shower? That’s kinda silly and that doesn’t work for a dog and cat blog!

“MEOW!!!!! HISSSSS!! MEOW!! Cousin Noah!! I think you are missing the point,” purrs Zoey.

“MEOW!! Read it again!” mumbles Max.

“Ok, not sure what I missed, but will read it again," Noah replies, "The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is hosting a Baby Shower on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at their open house from 12 PM to 4 PM at their Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, 4101 Eisenhower Avenue Alexandria, VA 22304. The event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend. The League asks that attendees bring an unwrapped item from the Foster Care Wish List to support the animals in need. Oh. Oops. Maybe Patrick isn't so crazy after all?"

“Uh no! Sometimes you get this way after too much reading! But, yes, it’s an event to help the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria assist the newborn puppies and kitties that may come to their facility this spring. The items will go to the foster care program,” Max adds.

Zoey says, “and you can visit this site Foster Care Wish List to get a list of items. Many of the kitties and puppies are too young to be adopted so in Alexandria they enter the League’s foster care program, which prepares them for adoption and beyond! Adult animals recovering from medical procedures or simply in need of a stable home environment are also candidates for foster care.”
